Lovely job sir, I used brown organza instead of brown dubbing as I didn’t have any dubbing, worked a treat and looked great. Caught me plenty of fish especially at night. Love the vids.

Such a beautiful fly and video! I've been watching fly tying videos for few months now, learning to tie. You sir are no doubt best pedagogue and tier out there. The calmness and methodology, selection of flies and materials, explanation etc. is just superb. Thank you so much! Please keep up the great work, regards from Serbia.

Such a brilliant fly. I saw this video last spring, decided to tie few of these with slight modification. (tungstein bead as im mostly fishing deep and fast rapids) I caught id say something like 80% of my brown trouts with this last summer. Totally fell in love with this and also other variations that ive made with organza after. You have had a great influence on my fly tying. Cheers from Finland!

Outstanding. And I have to say it - I'm considering selling one of my sister's kidneys to raise money for a Law vice like yours. It's just so perfect. I know the vice just holds the hook - all mine do - but that Law just does it so seamlessly. Damn it!

Hi Davie , I’ve learned a lot with you . Your flies are masterpieces , Kelly Galloup once said in a video “ with Davie McPhail is like ALL materials are at His command “ it’s a perfect description of you 😊so I looked for your Chanel to see you tie some midges , cause that was the first flies I want to do first , I just started tying flies , thanks to you they look very good for a beginner, thank you , I have a question .I have a pheasant skin that’s very greasy and smells a bit , is there a way to make it clean ? All the best for you

Hi Davie. I often see bits of feather and material trimmed off and was wondering if you can use them or are they waste.?
@DavieMcPhail8 жыл бұрын
Hi David Harvey, Most times you can't use what's been cut off but if a feather is long enough then you can easily tye another fly with it..I would say though if I was only tying for myself then I would probably spend more time using the cut offs rather than throwing them away but it would add more time on to tying another fly...I've a friend that drops by once in a while and he's never out my bucket looking to see what I've thrown in it... All the very best Davie

Would you recommend organza for terrestrial patterns, Davie? I was just thinking how much the organza looks like a bumble bee's furry body or maybe use it in black for a hawthorn fly pattern? Best wishes and lots of fish in the New Year!
@DavieMcPhail9 жыл бұрын
Hi David R Bellairs, I have used it on a couple of dry flies but it needs a good floatant to keep it up, I would say that it's more suited for wets and nymphs...Happy New Year to you too and all the very best for 2016... Davie....
