Foreign Black Girl

Tyla is not the submissive quiet African girl, people expect Africans to act a certain type of way. Tyla being free spirited feminine girl from Johannesburg South Africans. They expected her to be humble. Africans and humble in the same sentence does not work.

Tyla said those who don't like her, she is sorry for them. I like that attitude. Stand you ground in this industry. Be a hard nut to crack. Don't compromise as she sing. Push boundaries. Believe in yourself, exude with confidence but not arrogant.

She’s too beautiful that’s the issue here. They hate here because not only is she beautiful but talented, smart, and got her priorities together.

This should not be so hard to understand. I am a Black American who identifies as simply Black right? But wait, what if I decided to move to SA and SA's classified me as coloured because of the way I look and refuse to accept me as Black? I'm not switching up for nobody period. Some of y'all have lost your minds over this. I would not accept being called coloured, I would politely say no I am Black. Put yourself in her shoes and stop hating.

As Africans, we are watching, observing and taking notes - when the American system turns against Black Americans and it will - they must never expect us to shed a tear...

Unfortunately, you can say you black when you are in South Africa, but that won't change a thing as long as you are in South Africa, you will be classified as a coloured period. You won't be able to control people in they own country when you travel you will have to learn other countries' rules. There's a lot of AA that moved to South Africa, and they accepted it and made peace with it😂😂. Is not that deep the way you make it to be. So relax.

@@mrmatli8816 I can tell you one thing if she was proudly claiming to be Black nobody would have a problem with her. I know plenty of Black Americans who love and support Tiwa Savage, Tems, Ayra Star, Burna Boy, Davido, Omah Lay, Wizkid and so on. Nigerians make the best music in Africa, perhaps around the world and we support them because they are unapologetically Black.

@@Okorom04121) but she's not black, she's coloured. 2) Why is Tyla topping Afrobeat charts, winning Afrobeats categories in major awards - if they are making such great music?

Hm, I'm just gonna agree to disagree with your points/video. 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️ Already for one, even though I can respect or even appreciate someone who has mixed African ancestry, I personally don't consider them to be African like how I would be, they're only African by nationality. We're different and that's okay!! 😐😐 For two, I thought that whole event was just weird, rude, off-putting, etc., along with other things I've seen and heard of. 😒😒 I don't know the woman and I don't care to be in close proximity with her like that either, but that's just what it gave off to ME. Celebrities are strangers and I can't say more about them in absolute and total blind faith than I would for myself or a family member. ☝🏾☝🏾 And for three, while we all have our feelings about the event and/or the woman herself, I think it's gross and disrespectful to make a situation between two people of African descent/ancestry into a diaspora war and start calling us out of our names or Afro-Diasporans (particularly Afro-Americans in this case) out of theirs!! That's one of the VERY things holding us and our progress back. S.N. (to whom this may apply) Not every criticism or "hate" comment regarding Tyla or anyone else that is in the public eye is driven by jealousy, insecurity, envy or whichever else. People can dislike others just like some dislike waffles over pancakes because of xyz. 🙄😆 We cannot live in an echo chamber type of society, it's not realistic. (゜_゜)
