His voice was always very pop sounding. It was just backed up by screaming and power chords. And you can tell by the different in the meanings in his lyrics that he probably didn't even use to write his own parts in Woe, Is Me.

He didn't. He chose to leave because he was getting into R&B more (as you can hear from this video). He started another band with former Woe, Is Me members though, probably because he missed the hardcore stuff.

I always thought he made his own lyrics in Woe, Is me but I guess not. If you listen to The lyrics in his pop songs and Issues it seems a helluva lot more shallow. Either way I do like his voice.
