I am from Oklahoma and I remember the plane crash because I watch the news station that they both worked for at the time, his mentor was loved and mourned by not only his colleagues but by everyone that knew him or knew of him across the state. The hardest thing to watch was the anchors that had to tell the story as breaking news, the shock and despair was profound and it had to be one of the most difficult moments of their career, not only were they telling about the loss of their dear friend but also the loss of 7 other men who were players (2) and members of the OSU sports staff and broadcasting team (the other 6 including Mr. Teegins). A total of 10 men died that night in January, 2001 including the pilot and co-pilot, there were no survivors. I don't remember exactly when Chris left Oklahoma to begin his career as a television show host but I do remember him as a young news anchor and I know Bill would be proud of Chris's accomplishments.

Bill seemed like the type of person that anyone who met him or knew him could look up to, I know he left a huge hole in the hearts of his News 9 family. I didn't realize it had been so many years ago though!
