As a single mother, I can attest to the “pay $25 for your time scene”. I know how much I wanted my daughter’s father to be involved. Luckily he came around and they have a good connection. But, I do see how a mother could do something like that.

Fun fact: The Mr. Brown and his daughter characters are actually husband and wife and gospel singers. I assume you know who Rick Fox is. Also in the bloopers, did you catch the What's Love Got To Do With It reference? In his earlier movies, Tyler pretty much adopted the same practice he did for his stage plays; once he finds actors that he likes, he usually works with them again and again, hence the Mr. Brown character, he actually was in the stage plays. Sophia Vergara, Taraji P Henson, Lamman Rucker and others he worked with in more than one movie. Tyler was very intentional in working with actors/entertainers that are/were instrumental in the black film community and put them back on the big screen, and paid them, oftentimes, better than they were paid in any of their film appearances prior.
@missright91592 ай бұрын
Mr. Brown and Cora run deep in the Tyler Perry lore. Especially in his early plays. I wonder if the guys should watch them to see peak Mr. Brown. So many of Tyler's early films are full of references from his plays and callbacks for his fans to enjoy.
@ontheblockgod2 ай бұрын
The reason Madea isn't directly involved in this plot is because it's mainly revolving around Mr. Browns family. So Cora becomes the link, but the cameo is specifically to set up the next movie, "Madea Goes to Jail." It's also a callback to the stage play when Tyler did a similar phone call cameo. Love that you guys did this movie, I figured you would really appreciate Ms. Bassett's performance and her chemistry with Rick Fox and Sofia Vergara.

I love you guys watching together . I hope "Waiting to Exhale " is on your list. Not a Tyler Perry movie, but a good one. Angela Bassett and Whitney Houston were phenomenal in their roles. ❤

The fact that Mr. Brown and Cora are married in real life makes it funnier onscreen for me.

would be interesting to see their reaction to Baby Boy.... some heavy lifting in that one 🤎

I watched the soulfood series first so I like it more. But I wonder if I found the movie first if I'd favor it.

It is nice seeing different reviews of Tyler Perry’s movies… It helps noticing and understanding aspects of these movies that I have overlooked etc.

I was screaming the entirety of this movie like, how could you guys not recognize the character Shug Avery from "The Color Purple" shug? Oh my God, how did you not recognize the correlation between Angela Bassett and Jenifer Lewis playing mother and daughter from "What's Love got To Do With It"? 😹😂 Guy's you're killing me....

They haven’t seen what’s love got to do with it? Lol we are trying to get that next 🙌🏾

Y'all gotta start watching the reviews and not click off after the reaction. Because they literally look up the cast and saw that was shug Avery
