That is actually why I am watching Wolf Pack now. The same crestor behind it than Teen Wolf, but eith a higher budget and a book series as reference. it’s not just dylan and how good his performance is, it’s the importance of stiles’ character to the show and the direction. scott is awesome and tyler does a great job but the (movie’s) story primarily sucked. and the seasons without stiles have been weaker. because it’s a different feeling and vibe without stiles. (and dylan’s energy)

You are spot on. It's not the actors themselves but the characters. Same with Hermione, Harry, and Ron. The dynamic between characters is what sells me on a show/movie. Also, the movie definitely lacked when it came to the storyline. They rushed it without diving deeper into where the characters have been and their lives since beacon hills. But I do wish all actors shared Tyler Posey's outlook pertaining to reprising old roles. Us watchers really feel like shows and characters are real and it's very sad when they end so whenever they bring back old actors it means a ton. I really wish Transformers would do this with Shia LaBeouf as Sam Witwiki and I REALLY wish Daniel Radcliffe would return as Harry Potte... along with Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, of course.

I feel that it feels that way mainly because Stiles was the needed comedic relief in serious situations. When we we're anxious for things to happen Stiles would say something completely crazy, and we'd laugh almost forgetting that this is a life and death situation.

See, here's why I disagree. To me personally, Stiles was teen wolf's worst character. Sure, Dylan's ok, but Stiles was this cliché character, he had zero character character growth, was never held accountable, and I was bored with him before season one was even over. Only to see his character get worse the more popular he got. It might have been different, if Stiles had been held accountable, if someone had called him out on his crap, on how terribly he treated everyone around him, from Scott, to his father, to Malia, to pretty much everyone... But because Stiles got so popular, the show acted like Stiles was this great friend, even when the grand majority of the time, he clearly wasn't. He was allowed to get away with crap, treated like somehow his emotional state excused his bad behavior. By Season six it became clear that the show was terrified of letting him grow in any way whatsoever. His character was there to emote and whine, but barely contributed anything to the plot, while eating up screentime, and thus ensuring that other character's emotional journeys were ignored. the movie itself was actually pretty good, and I didn't feel there was anything that Stiles would have added to the story, other than once again getting to emote a lot. Which only once again, would have taken away from every single other character in the movie.

Dylan's own words "it felt rushed".....That is the nice way of saying it was a crap script without burning bridges for future jobs. The rumors that have come out are that there was only an outline of a script with most of it all made up on the fly on set. Jeff and others thinking the nogitsune being the best villain F@ckd up in thinking it was the double in the wraps and jacket when in fact it was Dylan's stellar acting and the tragedy of Stiles being possessed.

the Nogitsune and Void Stiles are two different entities i guess. Nogitsune controls Void which possessed Stiles. So really it was the guy in the bandages and Dylan who both performed exceptionally well. Also still waiting for Dylan's Oscar or Emmy or whatever the heck it is for Void Stiles

I was disapointed in the movie, honestly.. and im a hardcore fan! It seemed like the characters had all forgot their abilities and connection to each other that was built up over such a long time. I wanted to see Lydia's bad ass banshee powers being used ! And I expected Scotts True Alfa powers to be on an insane level so many years later.. and the only difference I noticed was that he made Dericks son become a wolf from a look and a growl! Why did they all just lose all sense of self powers and they didnt learn anything from their situations in the series. Derick was meant to be all one with himself now since he was reborn into his wolf form the same way his mother was. And the story of his son being afraid of him and thats why he was afraid to change in front of him was so silly. Kinda interesting that they left the mothers identitiy as questionable though. And where do I even begin with Alison.. as much as I love that she's back, her being controlled by the Nogitsune (and her dad) and Alison trying to kill Scott.. to Scott telling her the truth and she remembers everything.. it all happened to quickly to make any sense.. and didnt have anywhere near enough fear for the audience. And it devalued the Nogitsune! When we saw it take over Stiles.. they played this over several episodes and it got so dark and so powerful.. that they really did an injustice on it by introducing it again in this movie! To be honest, they should have gone with a completely new villain. The Oni was also badly represented, as you didnt feel the same fear as in the series.. when they would appear out of the shadows and draw their swords.. and do the stare until the person collapses and the mark is represented behind the ear when it was being controlled by Kiras mother Mrs Yukimura. Then later the scary scene when the Oni is being controlled by the Nogitsune and they appear in the hospital and start chopping people up with their swords further makes you fearful of these things.. and of course they killed Alison. So to see the Oni in the movie in this way, they didnt look at all frightening. And then theres stiles.. Why would they break up Stiles and Lydia like that?? After it took the whole 6 series for them to finally get together and it surely seemed theyd get married, have kids etc. And saying that Stiles is so busy with work to come and save literally everyone he loves in his life!! Is not a very convincing story! You'd be best off saying he was abducted. Its so sad that they couldnt get this movie right.. and quite frankly I just cant add this story to the followup of the series, its more like a bad dream

Especially with the show having ended with Malia & Scott supposedly liking each other enough that she literally was able to help him from going blind with a kiss. Not to mention, coyotes are suppose to mate for life so I already felt that a part of her would still be hung up on Stiles, so seeing her and Parrish, just didn’t make sense to me. I'll be the first to admit Dylan O'Brien is the best actor on Teen Wolf but the point still stands... The show's not about him... It was always and will be about a teenage werewolf. Whether that's Scott or now Derek's son... That's just the way it is. Dylan has moved on from it and it's time for others to do the same. i too am hardcore teen wolf fan and was extremely disappointed with the movie, however, looking at the comments breaks my heart :/ we love stiles and dylan. stiles is such an important character and no one is denying that but dylan did not want to come back lol. It was his choice and like tyler said, we still love him and that’s okay. of course the confirmed movie was still going to go on even after dylan and arden said no. i do think jeff should’ve done better and changed the entire plot so that it wouldn’t have been based on the season where literally stiles and kira were the main characters. Nonetheless i don’t think it’s right to discredit tyler’s work or scott as a character just because stiles didn’t show up. Everything tyler said in this interview was valid. If the teen wolf franchise chooses to go on and dylan doesn’t want to be on it, it’s still going to continue without him and you can’t expect the production to just stop otherwise.

I respect all the hard work put into the movie. However it did feel rushed and the storyline seemed like it wasn't thoroughly thought through. It was great to see so many familiar faces and new faces. The way the were brought into the story is what I found a problem with. Firstly, I found it such a shame that Allison was brought back and that she was such a large part of the storyline, especially when the series is so full of her commemoration, to the point that Crystal Reed even returned to play her ancestor, which was awesome and so well put together. It was a great ending and her story as a part of teen wolf should have ended there, or they could've have chosen to continue with that commemoration. Or otherwise brought her back in a manner that made more sense, not just for the sake of having a shocking reveal. Additionally, the Nogitsune was one of the top villains throughout the teen wolf series. So for it to be brought back, it should have been more cunning, it should have been ready to take on Scott's pack, and full of vengeance. But it was defeated so easily that it lost its flare. Additionally the relationship between the Nogitsune and Allison, should have been explored more if that was the case. Also there was so much missing information. Like how Argent got infected by the Nogitsune and how Deaton knew so much about it. The new characters deserved a better introduction. The fact that Scott was allowed to play lacrosse at his grown age just because it was coach Finstock in charge was possible, but the way it was executed was just poor. And these are just scratch the surface type things. It's regretfully one of the most disappointing movies I've ever seen, and it's sad because of how beloved and fantastically executed the series is. So again, all my respect to those who put their time and effort into this movie, but its severely disappointing.

First I want to say thank you for giving us more Teen Wolf! While I would have loved to see Stiles that isn't my complaint about the movie. My biggest complaint is that it was too short. I like the longer form of the TV show. It felt really rushed and it was hard to piece together the backstory of why he hadn't been back at all. Like it seems like between the end of the last episode and the beginning of this new movie the whole pack fell apart. I get that romantic relationships changed and that's okay. It was just kind of jarring that at the end of the series it seemed like they were all coming together and like they were going to be building the pack and saving people. Just maybe not in Beacon Falls. Which I mean yes they showed Scott saving a little girl at the beginning of the movie but it was by himself. We got a little bit of backstory on why Derrick's son might be afraid of the Wolf transformation. Unfortunately there just wasn't enough time in the movie for us to get all the backstory we need for the interim years.

I was so disappointed with the movie and felt so disheartened by the cast, producers & Director because off how rushed the storyline felt and the plot with Alison didn’t make sense at all, it was a good try I’ll give em that but the whole point off Alison’s character dying was to strengthen the pack even more. Yes with Dylan gone it didn’t feel the same but that only makes me respect him even more by not choosing to do the movie as an actor myself you have to my so many sacrifices with scripts, and Dylan definitely made the right choice even tho it would’ve been so iconic too see Stiles in the movie cause he was such a beloved character Dylan’s career has taken off to a whole new level and I think by him doing the movie would’ve damaged his career cause us as fans would only assioate him as Stiles.

I liked watching the movie because it was something new something fresh I haven't seen and it took me back into the world of teen wolf which I missed...but to be honest the movie sucked I get it's hard to cover details and so much in something designed for a show. But everything felt rushed I felt like I was watching it at 1.5 speed they would bring up a conflict then just either resolve it or have us assume what happened and put us in the next conflict..and putting the teacher as the bad guy I get putting a familiar face to the show but I hated that. Stiles had to be in the movie and the last season of Teen Wolf. It was hard to get through it without him. The only reason, that saved the last season for me was the "frienemy" relationship between Theo and Liam. I totally thought they could have done a sequel with Liam, Theo becoming the main characters. Then have Scott, Lydia, Malia, Derek, etc for cameos on the regular. They could have gone around the world to different nemetons and help other supernaturals. Scott had alot of strong stories but a few of the stories were falling flat to be honest. Not to mention he was the true alpha but the last 2 seasons, you didn't really see him progressing as this phenomenal thing. Without his castmates especially Dylan, Teen Wolf would have died after season 1🤷‍♀️

Listen, we're gonna call it like it is. The movie was shit. The plot was so obnoxiously bad and supposedly written on the go which makes sense why it's so bad, key characters are missing and subsequently "replaced" which is not only a middle finger, but not done well. The big bad was only the best arc of the show, because of Dylan, because him being the enemy was top tier, and again, Jeff just tried to recreate that without the spark that made it good. Not paying Arden fairly, and then replacing her with a meh version of Kira, fucked up. Trying to recreate Stiles through Eli (although we love Eli), fucked up. Killing Derek who is literally 1/2 of the reason the show even survived? Fucked up. You can say you like it for Scott all you want, that does not change the fact that Scott is a terribly written character who can't keep his own show/story afloat. Teen Wolf has always needed Dylan to survive, the movie is a perfect example of that. Posey wanted to prove he could do it without Dylan, well we've already seen that play out when the show was airing, it nearly got canceled. Nothing against Posey's acting or his talents, the writing and directing is what tanks his character and forces the show to rely on the best friend to carry it. Scott McCall has no development, and no area to grow. You can't have a static main character and expect good results. That said, a lot of the fault lies on Jeff Davis. Once you lost Dylan, take the L dude. Don't make the movie. I've never seen such bad decisions in storytelling come out of something that wasn't from Fanfiction.net, the cesspool of literature. You can't tell me you really thought bringing back 17 year old Allison for that romance when Scott is in his 30's was gonna look good did you? Fucked up.

Well considering Dylan turn them down, I don't think this is entirely true as he never said it was anything to do with the money plus I'm not sure that a huge motivation for Dylan in doing work for his career. Plus Dylan isn't worth that much more than some of the other main cast in terms of networth as while he is the one making more movies, he isn't quite a big bankable star in terms of his films being huge box office success apart from the Maze Runner franchise. um that's not what happened lmao it has been confirmed because of scheduling conflicts that's why dylan wasn't in it lol and sorry not sorry but every fcking person I've talked to hated the movie and that's a lot of people!! it's doing well on Paramount because it's teen wolf and etc the ONLY good thing about that movie was scallison!! and I adore tyler and scott but without stiles in the movie it sucked!! stiles wasn't in s6 much and it did very poorly!! most watch for dylan/stiles and pls don't mock people because they choose not to watch or like the movie!! our fave wasn't in it were allowed to be upset about it!! and it's very likely Dylan will be in the sequel!!
