A son who lost his father, a father who lost his son, and a son and father who were about to lose one another. These two men fought for a son that wasn't their own as if he were, to the death and against all odds. Can we just take a moment to appreciate that level of fatherhood?

This movie was good for an interesting reason, one that 4 months after watching it, I just realized myself. For a moment at the end of it you felt like he went though all that and died for just some random kid he didn't even know, so it was like he died for no reason, but then you realize, he was living for nothing, his days were empty, and he'd lived his entire life doing things he only regretted. So when he saw that one good thing, that kid, and knew that that was worth dying for. Not to right old wrongs, but instead as a chance of leaving a legecy that when he HIMSELF thought back on, it'd be something he could smile at and be proud of. And that's not something a person who has lots of things to live for would understand at first, so his sacrifice isn't something that everyone would understand at first. It wasn't about saving the kid himself, but what it represented, the simple achievement of doing one damn thing right in his life, to him was probably like a splash of bright golden paint ontop of a black canvas of poor decisions. And that's why his story arch ends on that bridge. It feels sudden to the watcher, but when you put it in the perspective of his whole life, and look at it from his point of view, it all fits perfectly

Funny story, i first watched this movie while serving in the Army during the first pandemic lockdown. I was stationed in a guardhouse, in an island with a population of 200 people. We were basically isolated from everything, all we did was guard shifts, workout and watch Netflix. One of my buds fired this one up and i watched nonchalantly, thinking it will be just another Rambo/John Wick clone, with the main character going on a rampage without facing any adversion. I was pleasantly surprised with how deep Tylers character is, considering the low quality action movies Netflix puts out in general.

If you were to take out the really good parts of this movie, then this would basically be this movie. This character is unstoppable. The relationship between Ovi and Tyler is so beautiful. I cried at the end even though i know Tyler didn't die. What a relief for the young boy also to know that his hero survived the gunfight and cared enough to come back and visit him to let him know he was ok. I am really saddened by the news that (but totally understand) Chris Hemsworth decision to take a break from acting to spend time with his family, I am happy that there is another extraction movies that we will get to enjoy though.

The song is "Zombie" originally by the Cranberries. The film was awesome aside from the pistol CQB, but seeing the graphic damage was awesome. Kind of reminded me of Casino Royale when Bond takes on those Ghanaian gangsters and you can see how shook up and beaten he is. Proper realism, made the flick!
@gloriadevos17904 жыл бұрын
Pagan Squaddie the pistol scene technique is called "weaving" it's used in "under one meter" contact, different techniques/skills are needed when you're basically fighting in a wall locker. You use your knees and elbows more than your hands.
