😮😮😮😢 Absolutely no plug in light fixtures that could fall in the worst scenario above water That is just common sense my love But I would suggest solar lights boxing the outer limits of the room and having it stick out in the sunlight so you will always have light and protection❤

Are the light connected to a GFI outlet? If the lights shorted on the water it is SUPPOSED to cut the circuit on contact. That said I would still move the light so they are not over the hot tub out of an abundance of caution.

@@BSGSV No, even solar wouldn't be safe, even though they'd be safeR. If the panel is still getting sun, the tub (assuming the lights fell) would still be getting charge. And some solar panels can create a good bit of voltage. Probably not enough to kill you, but more than enough to really piss off your heart.

A long vinyl shade hanging at entrance to covered garage entrance will.keep hot tub area warmer and prevent sudeways rain and snow from blowing it. Raise it up when the weather is warmer and calm.

Bought that exact same hot tub last year from Costco and it was the best purchase ever! Stay on top of replacing the filters and get on a good chemical maintenance routine and it's so easy. We change our filter once a week or every two weeks depending on how much we use it. Started with chlorine first and then moved to Bromine, which is better for our skin. We bought a lil floater for the bromine because it works better than the side compartment they try and get you to use on the saluspa. We keep ours up from dec-march and this is our second season with it!

Really hope you do a little more on the outdoor hot tub area in the future (maybe lay a permanent patio and paint/clean and add shelves for storage/cabinets to hide things and better twinkle lights) just to bring it up to another level. Maybe hooks for robes. Loveeeee the indoor transformation it looks like a professional gym!

Lovely! I love how you guys transform each space to make it functional and stylish, fitting to your wishes and needs. Just a tiny suggestion: get some nice walk hooks/hangers for the wall next to the hot tub (the one that doesn't have the firewood storage), to hang your bath robes :) and definitely, like the others are saying - no lights directly hanging over water! Nail them to the upper trim of the garage door, and where the walls meet the ceiling, if that works. Much love to you, thank you for all the inspiration! 💛

We live in Alberta, so our temps can get very cold in winter.We had a tub similar to yours and it struggled to keep the temp up when it was -25 and above. We put 3 inches of insulation under the tub and also put 3 layers of the shiny bubble insulation around the outside and on the lid. This saved our electricity bills and we could enjoy no matter the weather. There is nothing better than a toque, a drink, and your tub watching the snow or the stars!

Tyler’s right, no lights over the hot tub or within reach of anyone standing in the hot tub. They wouldn’t meet building/ electrical safety regulations in the U.K. unless the lights are rated for use in a “wet” area.

This was such a funny video, thanks for the mid-week upload! I agree with the other comments saying no hanging lights above the hot tub - it's just not worth the risk. However, I think at some point in the future it would look amazing if you blocked off the covered alcove with a high fence and some trellises with vines/hanging plants + a gate. And you could hang string lights and lanterns on the the trellis instead of over the hot tub!!

Please consider mounting a garage door code opener on the outside of your garage. That way you don’t need to have the remote garage door opener when your out in the hot tub or if you can’t find it! Looks great! The string lights look great for that area! Good job as always for Dumpy!

I very much like the aesthetics of the string lights but probably not overhead where there is water, maybe just outline the ceiling area or get a few artificial trees in nice pots/containers and string some twinkle light on them?
