What a huge misconception is of hypnosis is that people who are not willing to accept the 'fake' reality and tend to not get hypnotized. It's all in your head, you need to make it believable to the point where your brain is confused. Often people think the hypnotizer does the job but no, they just lead you to a reality that is created in your head.

I am one of those that is convinced that hypnotism works if you let it and that it is a question of allowing your mind to form a reality within that affects how you interact outside of yourself ... but that being hypnotised to quell a fear of heights .. man, that was impressive!

The way I think it works is in the first test where he says hold your arms out and feel them get heavier is where he gets into your mind because if you do hold your arms out then will get tired so this is to make you think it is real and then you get hypnotized by thinking it is real
