With the forecast showing a marginal weather window at best, Lance Colley, Cedar Christensen, Sam Stuckey and I ventured into the Torre Valley with a weeks worth of food and excessive stoke. We ended up going on a tour of the Torre Valley campgrounds on our search for climbable rock and warm temperatures. The four of us climbed Rubio y Azul on Aguja Media Luna (350m, 6c) at the toe of the Southwest Ridge of Cerro Torre in very cold and snowy conditions the first afternoon. Temperatures were more tolerable the next day, which allowed Cedar and I to romp up the nearby Frader Pisafe on El Mocho (400m, 6c+) in just a few hours.
We then ventured across the valley with hopes to climb some of the west faces in the Fitz range. We met up with more friends who managed to bag the summit of Aguja de l'S the same day via the Austiaca. The next morning we woke up to howling winds which we were told would persist through the coming days so we bailed to the beach.

These videos are really some of the most enjoyable things in my life. They are incredible and inspiring. I love the way you simply capture the experience. I don’t know of any big wall/adventure climbing channels with as good of style.

Hey Tyler, could you describe your micro trax strategy. Do you have the second rope solo because it's faster? Easier to film? Less work to belay?

Hi, I see people seconding on micro traxion a lot in your videos. I pretty much never see this here in the Alps. Is this common practice over in the states these days? What do you think are the pros and cons? Cheers!
@Trebelhornc
@Trebelhornc 2 жыл бұрын
Not very common in the states. However, totally legit. Petzl has, on it's website, data for using the MT as a progress capture to belay the second.

Around 4 minutes the guy who is 2nd/3rd -> how is he connected to the rope? Seems like a series of carabiners or a gri gri or something? He does not look to be on his own rope.
