Thank you, boss-man! Uni student here struggling to survive- this video was great. Your explanation for all the variables and where they come from really clears things up. Thank you for the narrative walk-through with all the steps. Super helpful, will be sharing with my class!

I attended an SEI/ASCE seminar on ACI 318-19, the speaker announced changes with the shear equations. I didn’t get a chance to write it down because I was in the middle of eating my free pizza.

For SI units people like me it is very difficult to follow..... i still cant understand how engineers keep using imperials....

Hello and thank you for the video. Just a question: Won't you solve it based on ACI 318-19?

Hi, there is a confusion though. For reinforced concrete, the coefficient for the square root of f'c is 2 while the same factor following the MCFT method is 0.0316* beta, and the maximum value for beta is 4.75 which indicates that the maximum coefficient in MCFT would 0.0316*4.75=0.15. Could you please explain why there is a huge difference in the number 2/0.15=13. Please help me get out of this confusion. Best regards, Abdul Saboor

6:46 should be 99.3. I don't think it changes anything, though.

English units? Don't you mean Freedom Units. I use this term after it was coined to me by a German I worked with.

No need to apologize to the SI people. You owe them nothing.

Error in thumbnail caption!! If you really have completed postgraduate studies, you would know that the correct abbreviation for it is Ph.D. or PhD (but not PHD).
