This video provides an overview and guide to the five KZbin videos that I have made about the Tarantula Curve. This video is brought to you by the Concrete Pavement Technology Center for their Summer Enews letter.

Hi Tyler! Man do I love your videos and your channel!! It really appeals to the geek in me. A little background, right now I'm trying to establish my best mix for my Rammed Earth structures. It is an attempt to study by best 2 sub-soils and get the best mix and my first set was a good freshman introduction to the fact that everything I've read by Martin Rausch and so many others, the MIX is everything. So now I'm going to research the tarantula curve to see if I can increase the strength and performance (against weathering) of my mix by possibly making some amendments or if there is an optimal mix of my sandy clay sub-soil 1 and my poorly graded sand sub-soil 2 that can achieve my goals. You asked about additional videos. You can see the DIY craze is in full swing because of - in my opinion - 2 major trends: 1) interest rates make construction costs too high & 2) corporate structures (lots of middle men taking a cut) in construction trends and over-paying for poor outcomes. You're seeing lots of videos for R.E., sustainable housing in general, compressed earth blocks, Adobe, etc.... However, other than myself, I wonder if there others out there that would like to know how to do a minimalist basement that only created to have a full height sub-floor for your sewage/plumbing/electrical access and placed in such a way as to be fully away from any load bearing walls (sitting in the pathways, etc..) with only one exit wall being load bearing. I would love to have some people discuss the concrete needs and some engineering with taking your information (tarantula curve) and actually making a basement. This may be slightly out of your wheel house but I know YOU would rock this subject and I think it needs to be done because too many construction companies are doing these videos and I've seen many DIYers do dang good jobs. Thanks for all of the videos you've done!

What software do you use? Do you guys develope a software or just using Excel? Second question: do you think there is a relationship between space factor and (SAM) and cracks that caused by freeze-thaw? I love to watch your vedios

We are using a spreadsheet right now. There may be more in the future. There is a relationship between spacing factor, SAM, and freeze thaw performance. It if funny you asked because I was going to start a series of freeze thaw/SAM videos. It sounds like you would watch them!

I would like to see a video of a real project where diverse types of concrete are needed. I have found that nearly all engineering firms use a "one size fits all" approach.

Great suggestion! I have some designs that I did for a project in Texas where we did the pavement, walls, and bridge deck. All of this was done with the same materials. I think I can make a video that covers this.

Great work Tyler. However I would suggest you lower your head a bit when addressing us. IMHO It's not cool to always see up your nostrils.
