It's crazy how we get used to the bjj rhythm. I remember the day an old-school bjj guy was getting rear naked choked in front of my as I was also getting rear naked and I was deep in the bathsalts and he looks me dead in the eye and goes....if your breathing heavy your doing it wrong. And immediately escapes. And ever since that day I would get submitted 5x more because I would choose calm breathing over survival.
