That's why you wait til after all the work is done to paint, because you'll wind up ruining your paint job...Lol! That being said, while there's certainly nothing wrong with the stock components, you can always upgrade later to some tubular control arms & a heavy duty torsion bar, or 'sway' bar, later & it'll ride like it's on rails...

When you install the lower arms, use u bolts from a 67-72. They are larger diameter and a free upgrade. You will need to drill out the holes a bit but they are stronger.

We ordered some from performance online and we had to do just that. They are a lot thicker. Our only issue with them is we had to bend them slightly.

3 more things: 1- It is 'cotter' pin, not 'carter' pin. 2-With the install tool, you had he stepped-washer in upside-down, which made your job quite a bit more difficult. The steps are to go into the inside of the pipe and hold it in place! 3- You probably wanted to assemble the bushings in a much cleaner environment. The only thing worse than the metal-to-metal contact is to have some dirt in the grease acting like sandpaper! I'd suggest pulling the caps off, cleaning out as much of the grease as you can, and re-packing it (or wait for the zerks so you can pack it while it is protected from dirt).

@@TheFreshmanWIT damn accents getting me again lol. And yeah either way it was a pain in the butt lol. And yeah our garage was too dark to do it until now. We got huge lights so it’s gonna be bright af.

@@RESTORATIONRESCUE I thought it was a "Cotta" pin (as in Terra Cotta) until high school thanks to Mom's accent :D

Do you not have a concrete floor or work bench? It is very unprofessional to work on a piece of cement in the ground with all the leaves Not good

I did not at the time. One side had to be redone so I did them both over.
