When a song drives you to sing along, in a different language, the first time you've heard the song, tells me that was a genuine reaction. Thank you for that. Some reacters don't understand how transparent their fake enthusiasm is. Thank you for being genuine.

I posted this on Facebook Yesterday Band-Maid released a greatest hits album with 30 songs, followed by a new single today "Shambles" it will be featured in Netflix "Kengan Asura" season 2. I will be seeing them live in Denver in 5 days. Band-maid is an impossibly hard working Maid Band! For sure.

Yes, Shambles is the Akane show with special guest stars Kanami, MISA, Saiki and Miku. But wait! Was it really the Kanami show, because she wrote the song and played it with such forcefulness and exquisite abandon. Or was it the MISA show because without MISA, the rapturous drive of the song would be a ride on four flat tires. Or was it the Saiki show because she focused the sonic chaos into a song with melodies that could express Miku's lyrics like no other singer could. Without Saiki, Shambles might sound like a familiar instrumental. Or was it the Miku show because, damn, she wrote the lyrics, played the important rhythm parts, and added her unique brand of backup vocals that have become a defining "sixth instrument" of Band-Maid. So exactly whose show was it? It was the Maid's show, as usual! 🤘🎀🤘 Thx, TYLR!

MISA spent most of the song on the "B" string of her bass. And as for how they put the song together, a lot of that is Kanami and the Ladies, but mostly Kanami doing the mix. She runs it by the rest of the band, for their input, but Kanami does the final mix before the Ladies turn it over to the label. And all of us wish for longer songs from the Ladies. However Saiki has vetoed that to several sources. How about you do a complimentary track sometime? Several musician reactors have improved off what the Ladies have done and made up some very tasty complimentary tracks. From Guitar, to Cello, Piano, Trumpet, Flute, Violin, Organ, and Drums. Give it a shot yourself, see what your mind thinks would blend.

I didn’t like this at first. After about five listens, I’m starting to feel it. You said everything seemed well balanced to you; however, I hear the guitar as if it’s under a blanket of sound. That opening riff reminds me of “Slither” by Velvet Revolver, except it’s buried in the mix. Do you think this would have more punch if the guitar were more out there? I’ve had plenty of Band Maid songs fly by me at first, only to end up on my playlist later on. Maybe “Shambles” is a grower?
