Arte Johnson in the Mustang commercial saying, "Very Interesting" is a character from a popular show back then called "Laugh In".

The 69 Mustang commercial was a riff off a comedy sketch show at the time, Rowan and Martin's Laugh-in. They had comedians opening windows in the wall to tell jokes to each other, and the character with the accent and glasses is the same actor as in that show, doing that character.

The 2nd Mustang commercial was set at the World’s Fair. It was a country’s showcase of the best of the best. The World’s Fair would go from country to country and would last 6 months at each location. The last time it was held in the USA was in 1964 just 5 miles from where I live. Too bad I wasn’t born yet.
@shyphyre9 ай бұрын
That commercial also aired two years before the Camaro commercial, in response to the comment about ford commercials being stuck in the 50's. The Ford Mustang debuted in the spring of 64. The 67 Camaro debuted 2 years later during the fall of 66. Styles and fashion changed fast during those two years, it not during the entire decade.

I just turned 59 and I can remember as a little girl that that’s what we did on Sunday afternoon was we went out for a ride in the car and we would be gone for a couple hours but that was your entertainment. It was especially so when my daddy got a 1965 Cadillac. From there he went on a Cadillac Eldorado, and it was one of the sports models that had the weird kind of derrière on the back end, but boy that thing could travel, and it did especially well in the snow.
