Type O Negative - Bloody Kisses (Previously Unreleased Album Demo)

Here it is. The complete, unreleased demo of Type O Negative's landmark 1993 album, Bloody Kisses. These are early versions of 9 tracks that would eventually appear on the final album - including an extremely different version of Suspended In Dusk, which was, at this point, known as Scream (Because I Can). All of these sound quite a bit different from their finished counterparts! For this video, I went through and EQed the mix of each song a bit, increasing the volume, and allowing each track to flow into the next as best as I possibly could. Enjoy!

Massive props to Sal Abruscato for the amazing drumming on "We Hate Everyone". BAD ASS. Also, listening to THIS version of Black No.1 is CLEARLY less serious in tone at the beginning than what ends up on the album (Pete's vocals are so much BRIGHTER here) until they start heavy singing "Loving you is like lovin' the dead" until the end of the song. THEN it's actually (mostly) BETTER than what's on the album, especially that slow down at the end. What a joy to experience this for the first time.

I already have all their Albums and singles and also bought a lot of Shirts and posters when I saw them live. But maybe I have another way to thank you. Among my collectables there are appr. 60 live recordings on CD, DVD, tape and VHS. Especially on the tapes and on the VHS are some things I've never heard on other bootlegs or seen on youtube. One tape captured a Show, where they are telling the audience that they are called Type O Negative from now on and not Repulsion anymore. And on one VHS there is a gig, where Peter wears short hair...and as far as I remember on this VHS he is also covering an (to me) unknown song...he sings something like "I'm shivering, shivering...". I have never managed to digitalize all this stuff due to lack of time and technical gear/skills. I always searched for a Person, dedicated and skilled enough to do this. So I offer you to hand you over all the originals...my only wish is, that you set it on KZbin afterwards for all the Type O community.

The band left us high and dry, and I understand, we lost a legend in music and they lost a friend who was considered family, but I wish we had something besides overpriced vinyl boxsets and ebay listings. If it wasnt for guys like Andy, we would have nothing. I'm still waiting on 7th void to release something. I still love the band and the members and would love to hear from them more. All I see is a random tweet from Sal about cars or sports. lol. Nothing from Johnny or Kenny, and I doubt Josh would ever mess with social media. I just really miss the band that has always been #1 on my list of all time favorite bands. RIP Pete and Type O Negative.

You're welcome! That I was afforded an opportunity to listen to these demos to begin with was amazing and surreal. As for why I put these (and other rarities) out there to begin with? Well, as you might be aware, over the last two and a half decades, there has been something of a long history of profiteers and grifters in the Type O/Carnivore/Original Sin community - folks who have (at various times) gotten a hold of various rare bootlegs, demos, etc, only to then turn around and charge other would-be listeners an arm and a leg just for the luxury of getting a copy. For example, I distinctly remember finding in eBay, a copy of the (extremely rare and at that point never leaked) Original Sin EP on eBay. Being a huge, longtime fan of all things Pete Steele, I obviously very desperately wanted to hear these recordings...but I couldn't, because, you know, I didn't exactly have the $900 to $1400 that I would have needed to spend to grab a copy. I found this very disappointing, to say the least. However, fueled by this past resentment, I sort of made it a mission to try and find rare Type O-related recordings and then - once found - share them on KZbin so that fans around the world could listen to and enjoy them, without needing to pay a scalper's fee. That I've actually been able to accomplish this feat (multiple times, even) was not something I had ever realistically anticipated - and yet it did. And what a joy it's been! Glad you enjoyed!

I put mine together in a way that tried to create feeling of cohesion, in terms of how songs flowed from one to the next to the next. Just personal taste on my part. JTmetal's is simply in the order as it was listed in the leak, and without any of the adjustments to volume I added.
