At 35:53 multiecu scan is showing a test for Clutch Pedal and Clutch Contact 2. If you tick the boxes and work pedal it should show if pedal sensors are working. I still think it's something to do with stop/start sensors on Clutch pedal 👍

Wasting money on replacing perfectly good tyres Paul, same size on same axle is perfectly legal and fine. Most Merc and BMW cars have different sizes on their rear axles to front from factory.

When you removed the old aerial and cleaned the roof, you could see how much the paint had faded.

Those handbrake cable brackets are riveted on and rust through and fall off , it happened to my wife's 500 so I removed them and cable tied the handbrake cables together to secure them then they don't hang down risking then being ripoed off ! Also wasn't a problem with her mot, quick, easy fix ! Also thst rear box doesn't look like the correct 1! possible why the pipe hitting the understand so mabe drop it down on the rubbers as you have a bit of give on them .

I think the only reason it isn't the correct one is due to it being a pop one rather than a lounge. Only difference being the oval Crome tailpipe but it's definitely not sitting right. Good to know about the cable ties. I was a bit worried about doing that. Got through the MoT fine, but still hanging down a bit, so I think I will do that anyway. Thanks

Your welcome. I also do the same with the rear beam/axle and front subframe except I use a tin of direct to metal rust paint and brush it on and other venerable area, brake lines, coils, suspension legs etc. I guess you dont need you go to that extreme as its usually just the rear that can suffer badly but I've never had an advisory for rust or corrosion on any of our cars. It's so worthwhile especially if your selling the vehicle 😊

Clutch"problem" have something to do with the new earthstrap maybe? And since the frontwheels are the driven ones, putting the 195/50's in the front sounds perfectly ok to me. gr J

It just shows with a few days work you really can improve how a car looks .that bracket that is off could not fix with drilling a hole and using a bolt. 👍👍

I think the overall condition looks nice for a car that’s done over 110k…interior has come up lovely as well. Good luck Paul, I think you’ll sell it no problem at that price point. All I seem to be getting is messers at the moment 🤦🏻.

@@SalvageMasterEssex I’ve spoken to a couple of local people who sell cars, the general feeling is the cheaper cars sub £2,500 are selling ok still. The ones at my main price pint seem to be sticking about a bit longer, salvage and non salvage. I wonder if it’s to do with the election and people holding on to the cash..🤷🏻♂️. Your comment does help put my mind at rest though as i keep thinking is it me asking to much money or are the cars not good enough.

Don’t know if it was you that said it to me on a reply to a message or someone else, its easier to cut a slot out of the bottom of the trim, that way you don’t need to take that bolt out. Wish I had known that as it sheared on mine and now have to drill it out before my mot in End of July. Love your attention to detail, spurs me on to do more stuff to mine. Bought a new apple carplay head unit for mine have ordered the vent extensions, but need to go on the Fiat forum to see if someone near Glasgow car program out the blue n me to stop the mileage flashing again, might remove it altogether and keep it safe if I ever sell the car for a Abarth.

You are correct mot states wider tyres to the rear The Audi rs3 had a real argument with MOT stations about four years ago as it to my knowledge is the only car to leave the factory with slightly narrower tyres on the rear original equipment

It is looking good and so fortunate with the paint match The tyres might as well be left on the back and ignored the rolling circumference is so close between the 195/50 and the 185/55 it's not going to be a problem unless you move them to the front as that is an MOT failure Just be straight with the buyer like you always are and let them choose what they want to do when the front ones wear out I'd match up two more 195/50's and be done with it

It's about the section width 195 & 185 the 195 as Paul said is 10mm wider and effectively widens the front track to the back by 20mm it doesn't sound like much but could affect the steering 😊 you can cause the same issues with spacers and offsets too even with the same size tyre

The tyre sizes should be fine cos i know some bmws have a staggered fitment on the rears so the front and rear tyres end up being different sizes but identical per axel

Great job on the spraying,after lacquer do you use the fade out aerosol? Then do you wet and dry or can you get away with a buff? Just wondering the best way to finish off 👍

I often use fade out but it didn’t seem necessary. It also didn’t need a wet sand. If it was a more prominent place I probably would. Need to experiment with 2k. Ultimately a better finish.

@@Love500 try researching Pro C496 2K HS Clear,I think it’s a 2k with a different type of hardener and maybe safer to use than the other 2k aerosols

I think it’s available on all cars, it might just not be turned on in yours. Check the options in the settings 😊

Yes you can do that but this is a feature where the car does it by itself. As Paul says, you can turn it on and off. I am not sure exactly how it's done from memory. I have it on but it's done from the wiper stalk end button. Chances are if someone tried to rob you, the handle on the outside would break first 😊.

It’s on the buttons on the Speedo. I think it’s called “auto locks” and you can toggle it on and off.
