very useful lecture . I have a general doubt in the beams. If there is a beam of the certain length and a force acting on its tip, so if I slice the beam in half along axis then how the beam will react in comparison to the unsliced beam? is it going to bend same in both condition or slicing will effect? thank you

I think it should.The neutral axis will be thinner now,second moment of area will change and the bending stress would be more.While the bending moment remains same in both case its effect would be different because later bend more than other.
