Dear Sir, I have perpendicular/ vertical cracks near columns. The beam length is of 15 feet and cracks are noticeable at the bottom of beam which is 3 feet away from the column. Cracks are type of hairline crack. Can you please advise, thank you so much in advance!!

Thanks for explaining the types of cracks and places of occurance. But what is the solution to strengthen at such places of cracks? In a recent incident I did observe that the 2 main rods of the beam were cut off Abou 1.5 feet frm the column.(To mount an A.C.installatio hole was dilled.due to that the main rods were cut off) Now how to safe gaurd the beam and eventually the structure. The residential building is G+2. can you pl .give solution?

Hi Can you please explain the reasons of such cracks and the ways to avoid or overcome such cracks?
@thollyvezi11272 жыл бұрын
Concrete is strong in compression but weaker in tension. Thats why you must use reinforcement Steel to prevent cracks

7:10 your shear crack ''lines'' are in the opposite direction ... note, you did put it correctly in your thumbnail... But, I do videos also and we all make mistakes when doing our content... we have to educate and video record and narrate... (mistakes a bound to happen). Thank you for posting.

Why shear cracks are like inclined and why flexural are straight ?
@robertpbaqueroholguin99473 жыл бұрын
Hello sir, very good video. I think there is a slight mistake. When shear stress is negative the cracks are in 45 degrees but in the other direction, correct me if im wrong.
@mariamabdelmonem99602 жыл бұрын
He already drew shear stresses in 45 degree! So if he mistaked sayin it ..where is Ur eyes Robert ?

Sir the flexural shear crack start from the bottom or from the side of beam.please

Hii when lets assume in T section which is under reinforced depth of N.A. from extreme compression fiber is 50 mm (maximum compresive strain is 0.0035) and depth of centre of tension reinforcement from NA is 500 mm(thus by compatibility of strain tensile strain will be 10 times maximum compresive strain) is that much strain allowed?

Why the tensile cracks are vertical
@civilengineering944 жыл бұрын
Because the only way for beam to crack is the vertical way.

Inspector Clouseau LOL Your accent is too heavy and when I look at the CC it also can't figure out what you are saying. Maybe you want to include your transcription so we can understand you?
