the first time i played Obby Creator, i actually found one of those very rare actually GOOD obbies and i had a blast with it, but me and someone else did eventually get stuck because the creator put the next platform a little too far for us to jump (even via other jumping methods like side jumping) and before we could complete it, the creator left the game

I don't think it is a copy, it has some originality from its worlds and lore. I say something is a copy if it has very little or nothing changed from the original (which in the case the lobby is almost completely identical)
