Can we say In causal research researchers can not manipulate IV? IM REALLY confused in this some sites say they can n some say they can not

I did a little research and found that experimentation is a popular method used in causal relationship. So manipulation of IV can be done in casual research too. Experimental research is a form of causal research and vice versa. Just know that wherever experiments in any kind of research are carried out, IV manipulation will be done. Please do not get confused anymore.

yes, infact it is not possible to conduct an experimental reserch without manipulating iv. because when you make changes or manipulate iv you check the effect of that manipulation on dv. and so by checking your iv affecting dv you prove your experiment. so manipulation of iv is important. by manipulation you increase or decrease the level of iv or make it present or absent during experiment in this way you manipuate it . and this is one of the important characterisitc of experimental reserch, which you called causal reserch.

You study intervening v as the causal link between IV and DV. Confounding V is an extraneous v that happens to affect DV. You never intended to study confounding v in the 1st place, it being an extraneous variable.
