Typewriters, Projects & My Temperamental Shop Cat

Greetings All!
It's been a minute but we're back in the saddle. This time with a red Corona (1C) 'flat-top' typewriter that suffers from "Stinky Feet Syndrome" (A.K.A. White Rust). Winter is creeping in and my work-schedule has quieted down tremendously so back in the shop I'll be!

Nice to see you back. I too am looking forward to seeing videos on the RC Allen. I thought it was a green KMM for a second. I’m down in Bellingham - had no idea it was going to get so cold here!

Thank you. I will do updates on it as it gets put back to use. It is a very unusual autumn here in B.C.

What a beautiful RC Allen! Here in Texas in my long lifetime, I've never seen one. I do have an Eaton's electric, rebadged from S-C...but sadly Coronamatic; I bought it around 25 years ago.

That Eaton's must have been imported! R.C. Allen's are VERY uncommon in this area, and I snagged this one from a fellow about 300 miles away from me who held onto it for months until I was able to get it. Well worth. Beautiful engineering!

(1:16) That's not an O, but a De Luxe in this case. These were the first models with this body style (with the O switching to it later on) and the serial starts with an A if I'm not mistaken. These have a paper guide and tabulator, while the O does not. I am still looking for one with the chrome bands, but finally found one (sadly a glossy black one though) yesterday!

I also recently found a Corona flat-top (Standard.Without paper guide and tabulator, and with the smaller return lever) here in NL (quite rare). What may be even rarer is that it's a Canadian-made one with a dealer decal from Vancouver :)

You are right. I couldn't recall the exact model. I don't believe these were exported to Canada and this is the first one I've seen in person.
