I guess that there will never be any point to warning young people to NOT do something. They never listen and just do whatever they are going to do anyways. :) I was certainly the same way, when I was young. I went to Bali during the first SARS epidemic, despite all of the dire warnings. In 20/20 hindsight, ofc, it was pretty foolish, but I did not get sick and did have a good time, esp. since every place was offering steep discounts of 50% or more, due to the devastating lack of tourists. Sometimes, I guess, you just need to roll the dice & take your chances. Carpe diem!

Looking at all the news reports, I am still shocked at how far ignorance took me that day. Some people lost their lives to the typhoon, and I’m definitely lucky that I made it back in one piece! It was a unique and fun experience, but also a lesson for me to be extra careful next time 😅 Carpe diem!

@@jamrellb Ha, ha, ha! You said "next time"! Does that mean that you already anticipate - and even look forward to - being in a similiar situation again in your future travels? :) You survived - so, "careful" is good enough. "Extra careful" means staying at home and never going outside, because you think a part of a plane, flying overhead, might fall off and hit you on the head, just as you look up after closing your door... lol.

@@michaeltakayama8415 HAHAHAHA I hope I don’t encounter a typhoon again, but I know there will be more crazy stuff happening during my travels 😂 If extra careful means staying at home, then I guess I’ll have to remove the “extra.” 😂😏
