Health authorities in the hardest-hit areas in Visayas and Mindanao were quick to activate their emergency response teams to respond to urgent health needs after Typhoon Odette swept through their communities.
With such a disaster happening in the middle of a pandemic, DOH staff in many regions had to manage multiple health crises as they themselves were affected by the damage brought by the typhoon.
