Thank you for this helpful video. I remember when I was a student of chemistry in the 90s, we never really talked about how to interprete IR-spectroscopy. In the exam we got a lot of IR, NMR, MS and...solve or die. That was so terrible!!

Frankly, that was my experience as an undergrad as well! I never understood spectroscopy when I was a student till I started doing research and had to sit down and teach it all to myself from the scratch.

When it comes to spectroscopy, the theory is not too difficult, but unless you do a ton of practice, you'll still struggle. I know I sound like a broken record, but spectroscopy is literally just a puzzle and you can only get better at cracking puzzles if you do a ton of them.
