@@pooperstalker2818 i get it. It's always the same. Typically made by army veterans calling Marine's stupid crayon eaters and the navy gay. I was a seabee building army FOBs In Afghanistan. We would catch army guy's doing each other in supply containers. Much more gays in the army compared to the navy. They call the Marine's stupid. I went to college and knew a lot of fellow veterans. Lot's of extremely smart Marine's and the one's barely getting it were army veterans. You do have a twisted mind set on the military. I served with plenty of men and women who earned a degree while serving and some even earned a masters. Most everyone else enrolled into a trade school or college after completing their service. So the military aren't a bunch a morons running around waiting for orders. They join to serve their country and travel. I've been to over 63 different countries. It would behoove of you to not be so bigoted in your views and realize, not everyone wants to enter college not knowing what they want to major in. Some people want to see the world and figure their lives out. Army, Navy, Marine, and Air Force. Lot's of smart individuals who serve with honor. Keep in mind. It's harder to get into the military than it is into college.

The Coast Guard is a military service. It is also the best value to the taxpayer serving not only in war, but everyday stateside protecting our shores conducting search and rescue operations and supporting customs. I am retired disabled Coast Guard having served both in Vietnam and stateside. The cutter I was on received more combat action ribbons than any other cutter during the Vietnam conflict.

Ok translation: Every branch had levels of bone stock gourmet chow calls, but they were limited to "why" & "when". Except: Yep, you guessed it, the USAF. If you were Army, Navy or Marine and had any sort of backdoor (think about it) opportunity at the nearest USAF chow hall, you'd find a way. They ate like that 24/7, 365 a year. No BS. It's part of the military life to raid (quietly enter) USAF chow halls clandestinely, and linger unnoticed while partaking in the pure wonder of it all! But it's usually unsuccessful until you gain experience. This separates the boys from the men. And also the females, same idea. I'm USMC and my success rate at Kadena was about 33.33% gaining entry. But it was worth it. Remember, every branch eats really, really good. But the frickin' Air Force eats WELL! Coast Guard? Haha! They sneak in anywhere they want, whenever they want! But why bother when they have fresh seafood 24/7 lol! Cheers & Semper Fi! --------- USAF= ICE CREAM machines. Get that? MACHINES that make ICE CREAM! Cones (both kinds) bowls, dishes...unlimited 24/7; 365 FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If your MOS isn't one that's available in the Army you will have to at least go through AIT. You wouldn't want to be in AIT having not been through basic training and even then you wouldn't want to got to a duty station without at least having gone through AIT. They let a guy in from the Navy like that when I was in AIT and the majority of is free time was spent reading the book, I don't remember the name, they give you at reception that has all the stuff they train you on. It would be an easier transition for a Marine because there are a large amount of similarities but there are a lot of small differences like marching that will trip you up. Probably the biggest difference is riffle qualification because the Army use pop up targets. The targets y'all qualify on is what the Army use to see if you can hit a target before you start training to qualify but you wouldn't have to worry about that until it's time to requalify
