This brings back old memories for me. When I was a kid, I fished a lake in Southern Georgia with huge bluegills in it. I would catch them that big all the time, especially when they were on the "Bed". This is a fantastic video. Thanks, I miss those days. Plus, they were delicious to eat.

Largest one caught in my lake was a litte over a pound. Apparently they don't grow so big in my part of Canada. Neighbour caught a 56 pound muskie so it all works out though.

Caught my personal best and second biggest largemouths today out of a storm water pond at a park downtown. I am guessing about 5 pounds for the bigger one. I would have never fished that spot without watching this channel!

@@jeremylesso857 I only fish that spot early in the morning so people don't see me hooked up. It's got a drain pipe that dumps right into the bay, so at high tide mullet are getting in the pond. Plenty of forage for the bass and they are keeping the vegetation down. A mullet pattern swim bait gets hammered everytime. I found another drain pond even closer to the house that's full 2 pounders.

Those are a hybrid breed. A mix between chinquapin (aka shell crackers & red ears) & blue gills. We call them mason bream around here. They are the best of both! Great fights & great size!

Catch those all the time in WI those are deep water blue gill that come in to Spawn you can only catch these from shore certain times of year other then that these blue gill hang out in deep water suspended that's why the color of them are different

I live in Fl, we get these huge bream after the spawn starts in March and through the summer with the moons. Bluegill and sunfish on the beds with ultralight tackle is a blast, and great eating. The only issue is finding the beds in tea colored water. Once you’re one them though, what a hoot.

Someone already said it but yeah,that dark huge pig of a fish? they are a hybrid of Redear & Bluegill..some refer to them as Mason Bream. I've also heard people call them RedCrackers before..I've always called them Blue hybrids..but either way,they ger huge and you got some monster specimens😮! Absolute pigs my dude! Keep up the awesome content! Anyone would be thrilled of a lifetime to catch even one pig like that and you landed multiple back to backs! It's an amazing feeling! And they sure are beautiful fish!

Biggest ones I have caught where on lake Kissimmee on grass shrimp. They wheren't that big though, maybe half that!

When I was a kid I went on a fishing trip to Birchwood Wisconsin we caught baskets of bluegills that where i learned how to fillet a fish I’ve never had to fillet as many ever supine but I’ve gotten really good at it

All fish are like that, but part of it is that a big chunk of fish doesn't fry up crispy. If you cut the fillets up into thin strips it comes out much better.

My brother caught a bluegill in a Iowa farm pond that almost broke the state record at over 3lbs. His fish was dark too, and he was told it's due to their age and holding patterns, like deep or shallow water.
