Thank you for posting! Did some lighted pier fishing back in '96 near Brownsville, mostly for specs and sandies while traveling for UP railroad freight. Eventually relocated to DFW area in 2015 to be closer to the the coast just to catch the big fish, but circumstances have been such that I have yet to put a line in the water... eh/aargh. Thanks again for posting!

Ive caught a lot of bull reds in my days of surf fishin. Never a "big ugly", or as I call them, "nephalim croakers". Good job. Beautiful fish. MY pb bull red is 48 inch. The massive bulk of "nephalim croaker" is overwhelming, seeing they are somewhat shorter.

I've got suitcases full of old fishing photos from that area, Corpus Cristi to Port Aransas. My great grandfather was a major fishing guide and fisherman in Port Aransas, " Florida Roberts" the fish they were landing then, with basically bamboo poles, ate astonishing, today.
