Original Song: Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love (Official Video)
I've been living in Japan for 5 years, and realized i fell off of the music scene hard. So this is how I'm gonna get back on. I decided to do the most low down dirty ish I could think of, reaction videos. Let's react to Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love (Official Video). And document the whole thing. Reaction video style!
I Invite you to react to my reaction of Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love (Official Video).
Then Have your friends react to you reacting to me reacting to Pentatonix - Daft Punk (Official Video).
Then have your... you get the idea. Reaction videos are so dumb 😂

The "double guitar" that you're asking about used by Jimmy Page is a standard 6-string Les Paul on the bottom, and a 12-string Gibson on the top. Basically, an 18-string guitar. Page usually played it during live performances of Stairway to Heaven for the different tonal qualities used in the song.

The "sound effects" they achieve are more often than not Jimmy Page playing his guitar with a violin bow - you need to see him do this to understand. Try dazed and confused or how many more times. Its often a good idea with them to listen to the studio version then watch a live version to get the full geniusness . By the time you see stairway to heaven at MSG 1973 there will be no turning back. I love your comparisons.

This song was the opening track of their second album, released in the fall of 1969. There was nothing out there that sounded like this at the time... it kind of kicked the door open for a lot of hard rock that followed. In answer to your question, that was a double-neck guitar. The most common configuration was that one neck had a 12-string guitar and the other a 6 string, though there could be other configurations.. the idea is that it allowed the player to effectively switch guitars in the middle of a song on the fly. That ambient sound thing in the middle of the song was the kind of thing that was hip and cutting edge in the late 1960s. The studio album has that section actually a little longer. The weird sounds (other than the vocals) were made by a combination of Jimmy Page playing his guitar with a bow and an instrument called a Theramin. Anyway, great reaction to this iconic song.

Don't be fooled. Fortunately this is not the Live version of this song. When it comes to live performances they can go either 8 or 80 (depending if they were sober enough at the time or completely wasted). On the other side, most of their studio-albums are simply incredible!

Try a song from one of their 10 or so albums produced. You did "Immigrant Song "off Number 3; and off the 2nd album "Whole Lotta Love" So go back to the first album and try a song called "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" and off album 4 try the most requested "Stairway t to Heaven"; and then off their Physical Graffiti "No Quarter"; and their Houses of the Holy album "The Rain Song"; next was Presence and maybe the song "Nobody's Fault But Mine" and from their some of their live albums like How The West Was Won" the song "Dazed and Confused" might be a good listen off this album.

Sometimes you need to play a part with 12 strings, and then rip into a gritty 6 string solo, without switching guitars on stage. Hence the Double necked guitar. Rick Neilson from CHEAP TRICK has a 5 necked guitar.

A double neck guitar allows for different kinds of guitar. Often one neck is 6 strings and the other is 12 strings. The 12 strings might look like 6 from afar because they are in close pairs of 2, but putting your finger down on a pair of strings produces twice the notes as putting a finger down on a single string. So the guitarist can change sounds by switching with neck they use during different song parts.

He was using a violin bow, and others sound effects..... The double neck guitar is a 12 strings guitar, using for the rythmic parts, on the up, and a 6 strings, using for tge solos, down.... Except, as Jimmy Page, was a monster, coming from another galaxy, he used the 12 strings guitar to make solos, in live versions! 😂😂😂😂Only, the guitarists, who already, played on that guitar (i did), can understand how much it's crazy, and complicate! If you want to discover how much that band is incredible, and the best band ever, listen, and watch them live bro! Peace from France 😂👍✌️🎸🇫🇷
