I've thought about Mega Kommo-o before and might be pretty basic but I think keeping it fighting/dragon would be cool, an ability that increases both steel attacks by 50% and lowering fairy damage by half, giving it's scales around the arms a steel plating, I also think it just being dragon/steel with the plating would be cool, and instead just giving it a punk rock adjacent ability.

Kommo-o is painfully underrated, it’s my favourite pseudo probably tbh, and Jangmo-o is by far the best first stage pseudo, it’s so cute I’d love for a mega to go more ankylosaurus themed like jangmo-o and be fully covered in scale armour with a massive tail to attack with, but it might be a bit too different from base kommo-o

Thinking about that deleted lore of "it's preparing for the day the darkness arrives" I came up with a badass (although not really likely to happen) idea. What if that "darkness" ends up being itself but megaevolved? Megaevolution corrupts Pokémon, that's no news, but wouldn't it be awesome if what all kommo-os are preparing for is the strange case when one of them becomes evil thanks to mega evolution

I thought that the darkness could be necrozma and they took that lore off because they changed the lore to it, so they had to remove the darkness lore.

I don't think Kommo-o will get a mega evolution due to the fact that only Kanto through Kalos Pokémon were shown in the reveal trailer for Pokémon Legends Z-A.

Instead of his scales dropping giving him a damage boost they should act as a field trap like toxic spikes so every time a physic move is used the enemy takes damage with there being 3 level to the damage

what if kommo-o's mega ability was like a weakness policy? like every time it gets hit, it's defense drops (the scales getting dropped), but it gets +1 speed and +1 to the higher attack. sort of like ttar's "big scales" idea. if they dropped both defenses, i'd say +2 to the higher attack and +1 speed. could call it like, "shattered scales" or something idk

A mega form where it loses almost all its scales but it's attack and speed spike (at the cost of almost all defences) and it gets No-Guard as it's ability. Like a classic anime moment where, "I'm putting everything into this final attack!" And then they clash and whoevers left standing wins.

Hydreigon i feel is the most likely to get a mega. like Kalos , Uonva has almost no megas (just one: Audino) itd make sense to grant megas to gen 6 & 5 pokemon

As far as Mega Kommo-o I love the design especially of the ability, though I think it should get the stat boost and then +1 Def,+1 SpDef, and each time it form changes go -2 to Def&SpDef but also +1 to Atk&SpAtk. making it less defensive when losing scales but stronger offensively as it get more and more into the combat headspace.

I'd imagine Mega Kommo-o would have a new Ability that essentially works like Shell Smash, but it works passively and doesn't require a move slot to use. The more damage it takes, the more you end up causing it to lose the Rock Lee weights

The second idea leans more towards the ability defeatist.. and that why i would like if big scales ability grants -2 def s.def & +2 atk s.atk at yellow health bar and -4 def s.def &+3 atk s.atk speed at red health to balance it out...

For a hypothetical Mega Kommo-o, I would keep it a Dragon/Fighting type while having one of these abilities: Punk Rock, Soundproof, Overcoat, Bulletproof, Tough Claws, Guts, Moxie, Mold Breaker, Scrappy, or some other befitting ability.

That ability concept of losing scales should totally be an upgraded weak armour, working how you said with bonus defence at full health, losing it as your health decreases, but you should also gain speed when you lose scales, maybe +3 at red health

What happened to Hydreigon was Iron Jugulis should have been Paradox Zweilous as a Tank but Gamefreak didn't want to have a Future Paradox be unevolved, or even have a Pseudo's Paradox unevolved. Alternatively Hydreigon could have been a Ancient Paradox more similar in appearance to Ghidorah with Salamence being a Future Paradox instead of the Ancient "mega".

Archaludon is also a Pseudo, no matter how much people want to deny it. All the patterns that existing pseudos had are patterns, not rules. The one unique thing pseudos have is their 600 bst to be on par with legendaries with no gimmick drawback ability like palafin and slaking, obvious exceptions. A pseudo doesn’t need to be 3 stage or have one specific Xp gain rate that makes zero sense. And Japan calls them 600 club too, pseudos are clearly pseudos because of the 600 bst and Archaludon has that and visually fits as a pseudo perfectly

I would say the only major reason to separate it would be evolution method. All Psuedos are 600 BST mon with no draw backs, 3 stage and only evolve via level up. I think Archaludon is not a Psuedo in the classic sense it being a sort of counter Pseudo to Ttar makes sense tho since Dural was set up as that but fell short in terms of strength I think there's more examples of these counter Psuedo mon but I can't think of them rn.

@@ListlessWither theres no other 600 bst pokemon that arent legendaries. The only ones higher have a major gimmick to them. 600 bst is the sole unique rare thing they have. being 3 stage is not unique or rare, only the 600 matters

So I think saying Archaludon is a part of the 600 Club but not the Psuedos is fair difference to make but its not like I can't see your argument. I mean Hisuian Goodra already breaks a lot of "rules" being an alternate cross evolution with a condition added to level up and the prevos not being in the same generation as it (for fairly obvious reasons in its case) and besides still being 3 stage the other things are applicable to Arch.
