It was believed to have clashed with it's kind the most over territorial struggles or food." [Version 2:]: "Thousands of years ago, this Pokemon was the Apex Predator of the Skies. It's believed this Pokemon is the ancestor of Salamence. Roaring Moon has a similar shape to a form of Salamence in a distant region, It was nicknamed ''The Blood-Soaked Hurricane" from how vicious this Pokemon performed to tribes and prey in the past. Ancient People in the past have mistaken this Pokemon for Hydreigon due to this Pokemon's Brutality." [Version 3:] "This Pokemon shares a extreme rivalry with Hydreigon and is believed to be the cause of Hydreigon's extreme paranoia. Sharing similar DNA and a ancestor to Salamence and Bagon, Roaring Moon is most active at night, having terrorized ancient peoples and clashed with it's own kind over territorial struggles or food. With the robots being the monsters seen in the expedition journal, and the prehistoric dire beasts being the things that look like creatures from works of fiction. The only verifiable information we have on these Pokémon is the fact that they were in the Great Crater of Paldea long, long before the Professor invented their time machine. Our only other sources are the Expedition Journal, where they couldn't get too close to the creatures without getting killed. and Occulture Magazine, which is nothing but pure fiction. Frankly this is exciting! With the Ultra Beasts, there were people who have been studying them for years in secret, which is how we know so much about them despite them being from other universes. With the Paradoxes, the only real experts on them are either dead or just making crap up! No one knows anything about these Pokémon- many can't even bring themselves to see these things AS Pokémon!

I'm just gonna say that I think both the Occulture Magazine of Scarlet and Violet exist in the world. We just don't get to see it. We see this most prominently when Arven is reading about the different Herba Mystica and what each of them do but we can't read those pages despite having access to the Scarlet or Violet book at the academy. Also Heath didn't write those Magazines. Someone else did. As for Brute Bonnet and it's Foonguss related family. I theorize that they are trying to imitate Apricorns, Voltorb, or some kind of berry with that same coloration. To us, it's an absolute shit job and looks like a Pokeball. To wild Pokemon though, the success rate must've been high enough that not only was that kept, but Brute Bonnet specialized in using it to ambush. And then the success rate of this was high enough that even Stunfisk developed a regional variant that uses this same kind of lure. For Sandy Shocks, need I remind you that ancient civilizations created Pokemon? Pokemon like Magearna? So I'm pretty sure they could have something like screws and stuff. Evolution does some funny things. In some cases your descendants get stronger. In others, they get weaker but specialized. In Roaring Moon's case, evolution was very kind and only made it stronger. It is proud of its grandson.

You're overthinking this, TTar. The "dubious magazine" is just the devs trying to give a Violet parallel to the "ancient book" in Scarlet pokedex. Anyways, loved the reaction as always. The like button was deservingly shanked.

i have a theory about the violet paradoxes that they werent the result of any disasters, but were instead made to carry out specific things, iron bundle to deliver presents to kids faster than delibird would, iron valiant to fight big threats (most regions in pokemon always end up dealing with catastrophic threats, the whole weather thing in hoenn, the dialga and palkia thing in sinnoh, word would eventually spread around and after scientists in paldea managed to discover the technology to make the robots, they made several iron valiants to fight against any threats that could face paldea) the only irons i dont see any reasons for are iron treads and iron thorns,,, another thing i wanna say is that the great crater may have been a result of the ultimate weapon eventually crashing down in that exact spot, considering kalos is apperantly really close to paldea, and considering the ultimate weapon managed to create a whole separate branch in the timeline and everything, it may have landed there and shifted things around in area zero, accidentally bringing a few paradox pokemon in, and perhaps awakening the dormant third legendary causing it to spread out its crystals?? these are the things i think of to help myself cope with most stuff that doesnt make sense i need help 🙏

I think it'd be funny if there are two cults in the game, one with Sada obsessed with the past and one with Turo obsessed with the future. And they both made their own books and then the other cult just turns up making fun of them and calling their book a paranormal cult magazine. Imagine we see the other prof in the DLC trying to revive the time machine and get the future pokemon in Scarlet and vice versa

My best guess on the dubious magazine bit as that whatever game you have has the official Scarlet/Violet book and then the magazine in reference is more akin to someone making a Bigfoot or alien sighting magazine more recently. The Scarlet/Violet book is called a journal in their respective games, as if they were made to be somewhat credible or official but the “dubious magazine” sounds like it was never taken seriously. Obviously the books were eventually regarded as lies but they were written in a way that’s like someone taking serious notes of strange phenomenon as opposed to a sensational magazine article meant for entertainment

Not gonna lie, kind of disappointed that ancient Salamence wasn't a Dragon/Rock type that was grounded since normal Salamence was known to be a mutation of Shelgon due to its great desire to fly Also, regarding the Scarlet and Violet books, how did Heath come up with the covers of Kuraidon and Muraidon if Sada/Turo brought in the only ones? Isn't it also interesting that this is the first time that aliens are being mentioned since the space man in gen 7?

A part of the appeal of the violet paradox forms is the lore implications. 1. For some reason or another, mankind would come to need machines that resembled pokemon from the current era. 2. Most of the future forms are weak to iron valiant’s type in some way. You might be asking, “well what about iron moth?”. Iron valiant also has access to psycho cut to act as coverage. 2. The inconsistency of their origins shows just how little is known about them.

What if the Paradox Pokemon really are paradoxes, because we see in PLA Pokemon like Porygon, Mageneton, and Scizor ending up in the past because of the space time rifts. Perhaps those pokemon being the past and them being stuck there really messes up time to the point they start creating actual parodox pokemon.

I think the explanation for the paranormal or occult magazines is that for example - Scarlet doesn't have the Violet book in it - so they don't have the images or explanation for the other paradox mons. If the paradox mons doesn't appear in a version they pass it off as if they were a cryptid featured in a magazine - Just like we have Occult or Paranormal magazine that talk about Bigfoot, Ghosts & Stuff

Potential Spoilers: Their is either a theory or rumor that basically says that the paradox pokemon are actually pokemon that came into existence through the imagination of the 3rd legendary as apposed to being from a different time if memory serves me correctly. This could explain the discrepancies in both the designs and dex entries, but I wouldn't hold my breath on it.

@blackmark2899 Жыл бұрын
My only question to that entire theory is that why would the Professor would call their machine a time machine? They should know the difference between a time machine and a machine that makes imaginary pokemon real because both of those already exist in the Pokemon world.
@justsomeguy7077 Жыл бұрын
@@blackmark2899 could you be more specific on those things already existing? I ask because I am not aware of them existing in game canon, unless we are talking about transferring pokemon from an older generation to a newer one and pokemon that can time travel.
@blackmark2899 Жыл бұрын
@@justsomeguy7077 Johto (gen 2) made their trade machines as time machine. They specifically said that they were time machines trading into the past. As for the machines that make imagination into reality there is the suite of Dream Machines that Fennel pioneered using Musharna's ability to manifest its dreams into reality. It's how Pokemon with Hidden Abilities got introduced, as Pokemon dreamed up with Abilities they normally wouldn't or shouldn't have, and being brought into reality with that machine.
@justsomeguy7077 Жыл бұрын
@@blackmark2899 Ah okay, kind of forgot about Dream Radar. Also, I just read that the paradox pokemon being imaginary might have only been in the Chinese version of the game because the leaker that started the rumor was getting info from China. Don't quote me on that though. The only reason why I personally think the imagination theory is still plausible is because of the sketch of the past beast that looks like a cross between the 3 legendary beasts.

I’m quite a fan of Roaring Moon and Iron Valiant thematically. In the past, we feared these great and terrible monsters like Roaring Moon. They exist in our myths as dragons, ancient depictions of true evil. In the future, we built our own weapons to fight against those monsters. Iron Valiant, a hero we constructed specifically built to defeat those monsters. Even the typings work too. Dragon/Dark is perfectly countered by Fairy/Fighting. As for how these things exist…I have my doubts that they are truly the Pokémon of the past/future as we know them to be. It’s possible they’re just from an imagined past/future and built off of how we think they would appear.

I have a theory that both sada and turo are arven's parents in both games, and depending on which one left when he was a baby (maybe an argument about whether to find past or future Pokémon?) not only kicks off the split timeline (either turo or sada creating the time machine), but the parent that left is the one that writes the magazine, but because they didn't invent the tera orb etc no one takes them seriously (hence why it's called "dubious")

I’m sad Ttar didn’t see Iron Thorns’ occulture magazine entry. It’s literally the OPPOSITE of regular Tyranitar, in that it’s not violent at all. My favourite Pokémon has to be Glimmora, it’s such a sick design; a crystal poisonous flower, and the typing and ability are awesome too. Favourite paradox is Iron Thorns. I LOVE the colouration and that we get another chance to make the Rock/Electric combo work better. Violet all the way.

7:04 I think this is one of the biggest clues that paradox Pokemon are actually creations from the Disk Pokemon mentioned in the scarlet/violet book. The missing letters on the violet book/the books in area zero research stations are a cyphers that point toward the third legendary being some kind of thermodynamic system that is able to recycle (thoughts, infinity energy… not totally sure yet) and create new versions of Pokemon based on the lens of the professor in each game

I recall in X and Y that when you get Aradacylite, the scientist suggests that Mega Evolution of Aerodactyl gets it's prehistoric form and powers from Mega Evolution. I think Mega Evolution is a mutation that alters the pokemon to a "modified" variation of what it used to be in the ancient past. (Hence why we have Mega Salamance and Roaring Moon look similar) So I think Roaring Moon was the original Salamance, but over time it grew stronger. Meanwhile, I think why Iron Valiant is stronger than the other future pokemon like Iron Jugular and the metal tyranitar was because when they were created, Iron Variant was the *only* successful one to take advantage of the Mega Evolution power since Gardevoir and Galade each have one. Also, now you know why Corviknight Taxis aren't in Paldea. Tinkaton and their rocks are bad for business. (And not enough Talonflames to take the hammers away.)

1:47 Yeah, there is a Magazine in Violet. There’s also one in Scarlet, however, they aren’t actually in the same game as the Pokédex Entries that refer to them. Effectively, the Magazines being referenced can be found in a few places, but the large majority of them show up in the School Library. The Magazines also refer to the Scarlet and Violet book, and using the info there, theorise about the origins of each of the Paradox Pokémon. For Iron Bundle specifically, they theorise it came from an ancient civilisation, so we shouldn’t take the Magazines word as fact.
