One of the few times where I prefer the American cut over the original foreign version - it blew my mind that the acid slime was only in the American version!

I was praying you had the blowtorch scene and you did. Thanks a million for that. 😉👍🏿 I didn't realize there were two versions of Reptilicus. I actually like the Danish roar over the American roar and would probably prefer the subtitled version overall. That groovy music at the end of the video was well placed. 😂

Lol Yeah, I didn’t want the video to be too long, so I limited it to only two scenes that prominently displayed the differing sounds of Reptilicus in both versions. The torch scene was a necessity that needed to be included 🤩. Yep, just like Godzilla’s first 3 movies, Rodan, Varan, Gamera, and Godzilla 1985, Reptilicus had a separate version for its release in America. Since most of the Danish cast spoke English, they filmed their scenes in both Danish and English. That music is from Legend of Dinosaurs and Monster Birds. It’s my most popular closeout track among my adoring tyrannicals 😎.

Honestly, I prefer the US version, mainly because of the roar. The Danish version's roar just doesn't seem all that unique or iconic. It just sounds very generic and un-special. Plus, for the flamethrower scene, the Danish version sounds very unbothered, whereas the US version is making it very clear that he IS getting hurt by the fire (he's literally SCREAMING in pain).

My exact thoughts. Due to the modified roar and addition of the acid slime, I felt Reptilicus seemed more intimidating in the dub, compared to his Danish counterpart.

I personally prefer the American version, those sounds that Reptilicus has in the American version are very disturbing, there is no reason why I consider Reptilicus to be one of the most terrifying monsters I have seen.

Us version, that roar is chilling.

I think so, too. The acid slime, while not a very convincing effect, also serves a purpose at making Reptilicus seem like more of a threat to the planet.

I think both roars are pretty fine, but I grew up on the American dub so I will have to lean to to that. Not to mention the American version had a bit more music added that I think helps. And the Nickelodeon slime the thing spits also very much helps. Still wish they kept the flying scene in the US version. Just take away that god awful kazoo like music though.

Both of them are decent but I do think that this scene in the American version of reptilicus is superior than the Danish version only because the American version treated the creature more gigantic and threatening unlike the Danish version because in that version it has a lot of size differences and it’s very unconvincing to say the least or should I say way more sillier than scarier. (In my opinion)

I’ve always been undecided on this topic 😅 While i do think the Danish roar was very underwhelming at times, the woman’s scream that was mixed in with the ‘painful roar’ for the US version always takes me out of the movie, wondering if that exceptionally terrified lady standing just off-screen is gonna be ok 😆 The roar aside, i do prefer the Danish version, despite its… _modest_ show of military strength, over the US cut’s gratuitous use of stock footage 😑
