Daryl Ong is in a league of his own. His choices, decisions, grouping of notes and phrasing are uncommonly extraordinary. Musically, he is maturing exponentially and he is only in his mid twentys. I think it's safe to assume that young Mr. Ong has surrounded himself with excellent players, composers, producers, and Musical Director (Orchestration, Arranger) because they're all like minded people and as musicians they all know that it's always about the music, about the immediate song at hand. Usually he respects the song and sings it more like the original on the first verse till chorus then shows how he takes it on 2nd verse and so on. you'll find that in thinking out loud, dancing on my own etc. He doesn't do it on medleys tho
