Tyra, the extreme emotion and tension Morissette is trying to convey here is because the song is about a woman not knowing that she’s in a coma from an accident. Her desperate pleas to get her lover’s attention goes unnoticed - which adds to her confusion and frustration. Thinking he’s cheating on her, she follows him only to find him next to her bedside at the hospital. There’s a short music video about this worth watching.

The message is so clear and it is relevant today, broken homes, broken relationships become countless today due to the advent of technology. Through internet and computer, strangers meet and one finds another. Sometimes love keeps hold the breaking--maybe due to the kids and others. More specifically, this song hss the vocal ang tonal quality, the melody and transitions are smooth and flowing. It has all the combinations of techniques plus the emotions.
