This track is still my favourite thing about Tyrian, even more than the game itself.

Seconded. Alexander Brandon knocked it out of the park with this one.

I couldn't agree more. The game was ace, and the soundtrack great throughout, but this particular track perfectly hit the spot.

This sounded somehow to me really desperate but intense as if Trent was really fighting for his dear life to reach and get some help out there, amidst all the spiral of chaos that his life turned to... One of the best tracks if not the best in the whole game. And hey, still listening 30 years later. Came to test a new headset :)

Now that's how you do an FM soundtrack, it almost sounds like a Mega Drive game.

In particular, sounds like Thunder Force III.

@@SolCresta3405 people keep saying that, even brandon himself, but I just don't hear it. it's thunder force inspired at most, but very little like thunder force.

It's because its composition is deeply rooted in classical music, in the same way neoclassical metal and (to a lesser extent) powermetal are.
