@@Philip_Taylor I dont think it has anything to do with his mentality, he's just gotten older and faced elite level competition in their prime. Put it in perspective, he's 38. It's rare that someone at that age finds success in the lower weight classes. He's lost a touch of speed and explosiveness that let him land his devastating shots, he's fought two of the best wrestlers that are known for their cardio, and he's just slipped behind. He starts losing the fight, and the best he can do is play defense, keep the threat of his big punch, and survive. He simply doesn't belong in fights with the elite top 5 or top 8 fighters at this point.

That was an extremely classy move by Tyron. But most of his critiques on social are more about his performance in the Octagon. Sometimes its difficult to separate the man in the ring with the one outside. That was a gentleman move. But its hard to justify his last couple of displays in fights as credible off of an extremely generous move outside (and 6 years ago). I have to remind myself that “Old Man Punching, Dolly Throwing”Conor is different than the Professional fighter Conor. I dont think ppl realize that this fight for woodley actually gives him a good chance to get back to a win. He has always struggled against fighters with intense forward pressure involving striking & most importantly wrestling....woodley has always won fighters who were mostly only strikers and did not have much of a wrestling threat (i.e wonderboy, robbie lawler, till).... From what I seen, Luque is mostly a striker, so hes gonna give woodley the fight he excels in....now, I am not saying this is going to be a easy win for woodley, he may still lose....bc luque is a beast, good striker and good chin.....but this is the biggest chance woodley has had to a win compared to his recent opponents......that said, if woodley wins this, i dont think ppl should automatically say "woodley is back" b/c i still see him losing to ppl like burns, colby & usman: those fighters have fighting styles that will always beat woodleys fighting style.....thats my opinion.

If tyron doesnt realize soon that he needs more than a big right hand and some wrestling to beat the top fighters of today the fight game is gunna pass him by. He needs to desperatley improve his boxing, work on his wrestling in a way that can help him chain takedowns against the fence etc. He needs to overall evolve or he’ll be left behind by fighters who are evolving, fighters who are fluid with different techniques. It seems as he has relied on power and speed throughout his career and those attributes are nice to have but technique is key.

Honestly ever since his loss to Colby I’ve noticed a completely different man in Tyrone. I can finally and honestly say I’m rooting for him Saturday! Side note: I’d love to see him and Tony at 170. Imagine former welterweight champ be former lightweight champ.... Dana make it happen I’d even watch him against Nate

I hope Woodley gets a W here and he should, Luque isn't exactly as elite as Burns or Covington. Tyron just needs a little bit of his past self and he'll be fine.

Casuals seem to honestly believe that Gilbert Burns is an elite fighter. He got knocked out by Dan Hooker and then moved to 170 and really beat no one accept Tyron and Tyron looked terrible.
@Chessete3 жыл бұрын
@@Readyforfemacamp Burns is elite at welterweight. No one thought he was beating Kunchenko especially on short notice. Even being a Woodley fan for years it sucks to admit the guys he fought were just better. He has a good shot against Luque.

Lost almost every moment of his last 3 fights. I like the psychology trip he's talking about. You know he meant that after saying it took him days to answer that question. He's truly looked horrible in a long time. Now I gotta root for him those mental fights are way more interesting than his injury excuses
