That's partially true. He eliminated DEI, but Trump can't unilaterally remove funding from the government without legislation to remove the funding. He just removed all DEI programs so that blacks won't have an easier time getting jobs than white people. That has nothing to do with funds. He also banned MLK, Black History Month, women's history month, Holocaust Rememberance Day, etc. annual celebrations in the defense department from happening because he believes that celebrating these holidays is divisive because it leaves white people out and that we should focus on holidays that present unity like July 4th which is a day all Americans can celebrate or Thanksgiving. He believes those types of holiday celebrations are less divisive then celebrating one race when it comes to MLK day only being for blacks or Juneteenth only being for descendants of slaves. I do disagree with cutting the holocaust remembrance, though, because that's like cutting Pearl Harbor Day or 9/11 remembrance day events. In fact, I think cutting the Holocaust Rememberance events is even worse than Pearl Harbor and 9/11 because only 3,000 people died on 9/11 compared to 6 million Jewish people that died in the holocaust.

Yeah I'm in construction, we don't observe these holidays anyway. We get a floating holiday for out PTO that we can apply to any day though. This is silly, the outrage that is. Speaking as a black american who was raised by a Nation of Islam minister. I've since left that ideology and pursuing the faith in Eastern Orthodox Christianity.

I sadly recommend everyone read the MLK FBI reports coming out. From what I understand it's not rosy. Also no one is erasing history.. we are all American.
