Well played, still a very impressive song lasting over 45 years now, written in 1964 by the great Italian trumpet player, Nini Rosso who died in 1994. "Il silenzio" means "the silence" and Nini Rosso made it up from a military trumpet song normally played in the Italian army and he has sold over 10 million copies of his record. The original music is on youtube.

ben toevallig op deze video gevallen en moet zeggen dat dit me wel wat hartpijn doet , daar dit is het liedje waar indertijds mijn ouders zich hebben elkaar ontmoet . Nu zijn ze beiden aan het dansen in de hemel. Telkens ik deze melodie hoor word het stil van binnen. Want ik heb nooit kunnen zeggen wat ik wou zeggen ..... gewoon dat ik van ze hou... Ik kon dit indertijds wel doen maar daar was ik indertijd nog niet rijp genoeg voor om te beseffen wat het leven in het werkelijk was .

This is a very good treatment of this. The first Time I heard it, it was played on the Trumpet by a 13 year old Melissa Venema with Andre Rieu's Orchestra. This has some elements of the 24 note Taps here that is played at Miltary Funerals and at 10 pm for Lights out.
