Tyson is one of the best at getting into people's heads, and he knows this gives him an advantage and a certain amount of assurance. I think by not getting involved in the war of words Whyte has slightly rattled Tyson and I will mean Whyte will be more focused in training and more focused on the day. Dillian is not contractually bound to attend press events. Whyte is only doing exactly what he is contracted too, because he's had enough of being shafted by the WBC. It's a shame, because the build up could be amazing, but I understand what he's doing.

I luv how some will play up for the cameras this scandalous "no show" for Dillian Whyte... as if it were some "big mystery" as to "why he wouldn't promote this fight..??" THEY cannot be so naive as to not know Whyte's protestation's for months leading up to the press conference! Whyte almost negated the contract when leaving it to the last six hours and it appears he doesn’t want any part of the event, other than fight week. But there is valid reasons why the WBC interim champion feels like this.. add in the "mind games" as well, for good measure! Firstly, Whyte has ongoing arbitration against the World Boxing Council over the purse split for the fight. The WBC and Fury offered twenty percent of the pot when *the standard is 45% for a mandatory challenger!!!* This scenario is where the problems began. If successful, as Deontay Wilder was when he went up against Fury in the same process, Whyte stands to earn another $8 million-plus for his trouble!! Many would say this is a worthy measure that can only be a plus for Whyte. If he loses arbitration, he still gets the same purse he has now. Though, that’s not his only gripe. *Whyte has no claims to any other revenue from the Pay Per View to the gate receipts* .. hence why he didn’t want to promote the opening of the public sales. Why should he bother promoting something he’s getting nothing from until April 23rd? - It’s certainly a valid question. Whyte only gets paid to *"fight"* against Fury. That seems to be what he’s arguing here, along with the fact that Whyte's promoter and mate Eddie Hearn was basically shunned from the event.. culminates with this ending up as a promotional dud!

Not quite sure how Whyte’s biggest payday is £250,000. Companies house tells a different story. His accounts for tax year 2020 show he had debtors owing £3m and he ended up with a net worth of just under £1m from his first filed set of accounts so I’m calling bullshit straight away. He’s had significant fights since then also so when the next set of accounts are filed I’d expect that to have increased. Granted it’s nowhere near on the scale of Fury and especially Joshua’s earnings but £250,000 as his biggest payday seems like total nonsense.

I think the opposite, Fury is happier running the show, no reason to pay Dillian any extra money to come and not say anything, he has hardly sold his past fights... The only person who loses out here is Whyte, long-term win lose, or draw the promotion for his brand, etc... he could have gotten from going all out selling this fight would have likely been more than the extra change he wanted. This is just another example of bad business on Whyte's end ( more so his team ) and it is not the first time.
