Good to see Tomko again. I had no idea he was close friends with Benoit.
@ProtomanButCallMeBlues5 ай бұрын
It wasn't necessarily that their friendship was that close but that Beniot couldn't handle trauma correctly because of the CTE.
@branhasyoutube5 ай бұрын
@@ProtomanButCallMeBlues They were riding buddies and they were close enough to where Jericho would call Tomko and ask if he knew why Chris would have done such a thing. Jericho said in his book that after he heard what Chris did, he called Tomko and Scott Armstrong because he knew they were close to Chris but they were just as flabbergasted as anyone about it.

@ProtomanButCallMeBlues Should be mentioned Chris' first wife also accused him of domestic abuse and Nancy's sister heavily implied they were alcoholics on Jerichos podcast. Police noted that the home was littered with beer cans. Chris was also very unhappy with where his career was heading in the WWE. There was alot more going on than supposed CTE. I still think WWE pushed that narrative to make it sound like it came out nowhere. Chris was always an intense, antagonistic person. Hevalso bullied guys along with Holly and Taker

I've noticed that a lot of wrestlers who were heels for most of their careers tend to be the kindest people in the wrestling business IRL(Rick Rude, Owen Hart, Chris Masters, William Regal, Tyson Tomko).

I wish that we lived in a timeline where Chris Benoit & Eddie Guerrero are still alive today. They've retired from wrestling, they're both in the WWE HOF, & more importantly, they're head trainers in the performance center giving advice to all the young guys & girls who are competing in NXT. That would've been so sick in so many ways.

I remember the Eddie Guerrero tribute show on Raw. Just from the outside looking in, you could see how Eddie’s passing broke Chris, both during the 10 bell salute and during his pre taped interview saying goodbye to Eddie. The Dark Side of the Ring episode really did a good job showing how Eddie’s passing had a horrible impact on Chris. I think it was just an unfortunate combination of CTE and depressive psychosis. Hearing Vickie talk about how Chris was in her home after his passing was heartbreaking to hear as a fan. Glad to see Tyson Tomko doing so well. Looks much different than he did during his WWE and TNA days, and he seems like a great guy.

I love when he talks about them driving and Chris hitting a barrel. It's a shame. Wish it hadn't happened and I also agree if Eddie had been around things may have turned out differently. It's nice to hear the stories on the road since Chris was such a reserved and quiet guy. Tomko handled the topic well.

People are always looking for a single answer but I suspect it's the combination of everything. Eddie died, CTE, unhealthy marriage, friends like Angle left WWE, Vince and others neglected the issues, he was getting older and his career stalled, and may have been simply a bad person at heart. WWE got way too defensive when the news broke, for my liking.

It probably would've happened even if Eddie lived. Chris suffered from CTE, drug abuse, roids and alcohol abuse. Nancys sister said that she was also popping pills and drinking. I don't think his career slowing down or really anything connected with WWE played a big role in what happened.
