He would tell you that four of those years were me going through college so it's my fault LOL, but he did propose two days after our six year anniversary and now we are getting married later this year! Don't focus too much on your age. You are still young. (cliche to say, but it is true) Also, in my opinion it is much better to take a good amount of time to date before getting married because you have to opportunity to get to know each other a lot better than someone who had only been dating for around one year. You can start to learn a lot more about each others little quirks after the honeymoon phase wears off and truly see if you could accept them for the rest of your life. For all those (men or women) who complain about the gum, or his mistakes on guitar, look inside first. Have you ever done something like this for someone you love? He's not a professional guitarist or singer. If he was, it would have been easy. But, he put himself out there. He made himself vulnerable. Proposing & doing something you don't normally do at the same time? I would have been chewing gum until it came out my ears, just to calm my nerves. It didn't bother his fiancé - why should it bother anyone else.
