Post their passing years ago, I swear their spirits were looking out for me and helped me get out the dark place I was in. Song drops on my birthday I already know I'm gonna relate to it a lot. Being born to teenage mother had a tremendous benefit… I got many years with my grandparents, my grandfather in particular. Disciplinarian, role model, generous provider, teacher of lessons. My papa passed in 2006 he was 96 a WW2 veteran a coal miner a hobo hopping trains during the great depression to find work but most of all a Christian man he and my mammy adopted my mother in 1955 when they found her on their doorstep only 2 days old and yes I know that sounds like a bugs bunny cartoon but it's true that type of thing really happened back then my papa was a blessing to everyone he ever came to know even strangers all but the Nazis he had to kill in order to keep his country and the countries of the world safe they don't make men like him anymore but by the grace of God we had him in our lives he along with my father taught me to be a man a real man God bless everyone stay strong in the word and keep the oil in your lamps full our heavenly father is coming home soon

Never forget the blessing my father received when grandpa passed. He suffered from dementia his last years. It got so bad he didn't even recognize his own son. But when the moment came... Grandpa's mind was crystal clear. God blessed my pops with one last heart to heart conversation with his Father. We should all hope to be so lucky.

Man, bro, my granpa is literally in the hospital at the moment. I didn’t have parents growing up and my granpa was the only Christian in my life. He steady preached the gospel and showed me Christ. Even though I rejected his council, being stubborn in my sin. Christ saved me 10 years ago and I owe it to my granpa for being that steady witness in my life. Thanks for this song bro!

But tomorrow will be 30 years since my mom passes away from cancer, and we fought like 2 cats when I was a teen, but then I got saved in 1975, and she got saved right after me, & we were best friends for the rest of her life! An awesome and touching song, God Bless!! My Grandfather was an American Hero and a Purple Heat survivor of the Battle of Saipan in WWII. He was gut shot in battle and laid on the battlefield wounded for a few days but somehow miraculously survived and then made it through years of rehab. I would not be here today if he did not survive! I have such admiration for him and glad I got to spend time with him here on earth and look forward to our reuniting with him and my Dad with our Father God!

I got 13 years with my grandfather before he passed in 98’. Thankful for the time God allowed me to have with him. People don’t realize just how much of a wealth of knowledge our grandparents are. People let that pass right on by without realizing just how precious our time here is or how much they can learn without having to learn things the hard way if they’d just sit down close their mouth and listen to the gems of knowledge their grandparents or the older generation in general can drop on you. They grew up when things were so much tougher and they had to grind day in and day out. They got so much to give, people are too caught up in themselves these days. More importantly we need to come together in Christ and learn from him. Tyson your music is a blessing brother. Nothing but love here! I pray God continues to bless you and the family!

This is how I feel about my grandpa. My father passed when I was baby. My grandparents were my parents. Grandma taught me about Jesus, papaw treated me like his daughter. She passed in 2021 due to the jab. He's still here at 90. He's always been there for me. One day, I'll see her in heaven, as well as him one day. Grandparents are such a blessing ❤

I grew up having only 1 Grandpa because my other Grandpa died before I was born. My dad was only 16yrs old when his dad, my grandpa died. My mom's dad, my grandpa Charlie, was alive and well until 2013 when he passed away at 97yrs of age. I was very very close to my grandpa Charlie. I used to learn a from him growing up and even in my adulthood! However this song reminds me more of my dad and my nephew Lance, who died in October of 2021. Lance was shot and killed by a county police officer while a second officer watched from the roadside. My dad died in 2017 from cancer. So this song reminds me of the relationship between my dad and my nephew (more like my son). Especially when you say at the end of the song "meet me at the gates grandpa. We'll stroll down hallelujah boulevard" because I believe my daddy met my Lancie at the gates of heaven when he died.

My grandpa led me to Christ at a young age without a father of my own. At 25 he led me back to the cross and reminded me it was paid in full. I struggle every day and my walk with Christ has been the hardest duration of my life but it’s been so so worth it.
