Some of their friends in Amarillo showed up at a pride event and some "man" told me in the sassiest way possible while displaying very feminine mannerisms, "God made you to be a man!" I felt so sorry for him. I hope he can someday be comfortable with being honest to himself. I just told him, "you might not be here with the right mindset, but you're in the right place and I love you."

The best one I ever saw is when they decided to picket San Diego Comic Con, and the congoers in cosplay and weird outfits all came out and did a counterprotest just absolutely making jokes out of them. The Westboro folks left after ten minutes.

Nathan Phelps is one of my Face Book friends. In 2010, the WBC picketed the University of South Florida between the Catholic Student Center and the Hillel House. A few hundred students, faculty and locals show up to rally against them. I was one of the locals and a USF alumnus. The WBC had 5 people holding signs, while all of us on the other side of the street sang songs and eventually turned our backs on them in unison.

Wouldn't that mean that gay people are so because God made them that way, and LGBT allies are so because of predestination too?
