More please, this is priceless, I visited the boat before it was cut up, a sad moment indeed, fascinating. I just hope you can get more funding. I am trying to get to Laboe, not an easy place to travel too. I hope one day to visit IXC boat U-505 in Chicago. Keep going, please. 😊

You guys are doing An amazing job with the U-534, she is finally getting the treatment she deserves. I'm always looking forward to updates, and I do hope I can visit the boat sometime in the future. Thanks Guys, carry on doing what You are doing!

Great to see another video its been a long time since the last one , its overwhelming the work that is in front of you and yet interesting that you unearth even more new artifacts as your work progresses' this will be a world beating museum in the future.

We thought we owed you a longer video after a rather quiet winter! Thanks so much for the support Keith.

love your series. I've been lucky enough to walk through the U 995 in Laboe Germany, and also the type 21 in Bremerhaven. I'm hoping that you will be able to restore some of the instruments in the sub, so that visitors can see what life was like operating these U boats. And I hope that you can raise the snorkel as this was an important part of the Sub, and shouldn't be left in its lowered position. Looking forward to re-visiting the 534 in 2024 . Keep up the good work x

That's so interesting, a thing I find very interesting, in the meal plan at 28:40 ish, they called Rindfleisch "beef" all the time. Corned beef, Beef Steak... You'd expect the Nazis in 1944 would have some sort of rules against using anglo-american words with french origin if there is a perfectly fine German way to say it.(Don' know another word for Steak, but corned Beef would be "gepökeltes Rindfleisch" or "Pökelfleisch", etc) It's just something that feels at odds with the kind of "nein, nein, nein, it's not Propeller, it's Luftschraube" behavior I'm used to when dealing with nazi Germany. It's just that I met many people from that generation, I'm German and worked as nurse for quiet a while, so I also talked a lot about food with those people but I never heard anyone of them say beef instead of "rind". We should show this to the people who are complaining all the time, that "English ruins the German language" and all that non sense, maybe showing them that they are more nationalistic then literal Nazis will shut their mouth.

There is NOTHING WRONG with Nationalism; unless of course you're a Commie that thinks that Culture is meaningless.

The object around the 15:00 minute mark is probably a pitometer (Also known as a pit log).

Instead of making fancy videos, you should grab an anglegrinder with a wire wheel and go into action, before the whole thing fall apart whilst you daydreaming.

12:20 I am pretty sure, the covers were made out of bacelite and just rot away in the salty water
@howtofixauboat Жыл бұрын
Bakelite is actually really stable though! We've got about 20 tubs of toothpowder that prove that 😀 Current theory is the metal used for them had a high level of zinc, or another metal that corrodes more easily with water. Either that, or they were all prised off while looking for gold!

I'm 100% for more longer videos, shit is way to interesting to be condensed in a few minutes each time
