So many ex army, and marines brats I have met, were told by their fathers, join the Air Force as they look after their guys, and girls better from food to accommodation.

I swear most people have NO idea about these other elite special operations units from other branches. The general public mostly think the only elite units America has are Navy Seals. As a Marine I can tell you Air Forces PJs are legit beasts. They can save your life and still kick your ass. I imagine the other units in Air Force Special Warfare are just as much so.

This vid about SR
@harveysanchez69935 ай бұрын
Surprisingly, there are units that can enter the battlefield in secret while also setting up a hidden tent and equipment to create an operating room. They then can proceed to conduct surgery on the battlefield while also being combat ready. It's crazy how people trained at the level of doctors can also do crazy stuff. I even heard of people in the 160th SOAR that can literally jump into a highly dangerous area to get an air craft working again. Just the most highly experienced pilots and air craft repairs that will maximize all left over power to get a badly damaged helicopter up and out of the danger zone. Crazy stuff our U.S. military is capable of.
@terrarecon5 ай бұрын
@@yurrr4338 Yeah, I know what the vid is about. However, my reference is to my experience with PJs. Seems you missed the part where I also indicate that "other units in Air Force Special Warfare are just as capable" which automatically and intentionally includes the topic of this video, "Air Force Special Recon." Trust me they weren't left out, they were highlighted.

That is because these guys are NOT NEEDED in the US Military, these units are just another example of the total waste of our governments defense budget, the missions they are training to do, Have been being done by Army Rangers, and Marines for over 50 years , So why the hell does the Air Force now need to take on this same task, AGAIN wasted military spending, I served in the 1st Bn 75th INF ( Rangers) Airborne back in 1979 to 83, we did these missions all the time, why does the command staff think the AIR FORCE now needs SNIPERS and RECON TEAMS, next thing we'll have the SPACE FORCE attending DELTA training .

The Marines were the first unit in our military to have a special operations unit. The army came along, the Navy had UDT , then came Seals. I guess now the Air Force has their special reconnaissance unit. Of course the Air Force has PJs. Which are awesome. The best at what they do. It's just all that the Air Force, which in the title, Air. Now they have units on the ground. As a force Recon Marine, I find that disturbing. Unnatural. Marine Force Recon was not set on the Navy Seals and they first came in in the early 60s. Because the Navy was infringing on the land which was the Marines area of operation. Truth be told most people don't know this, oh are there training for the Navy Seals early on in the '60s tapped into Marine Force Recon training techniques. But not very many seals will admit that. LOL! I think having all these ways of choosing to do ground reconnaissance is is too much. Leave the ground to the army in the Marines. Leave the sea to the Navy, and leave the air space to the Air Force. Just one man's home opinion.

Air Force CCT's and PJ"s have been around since the Korean war, the CCT's were pattern after Army Pathfinders and PJ's were started to recue downed pilots, Air Force Special operations have been around for decades same as UDT's were around since WW2.
@tedh.8356Ай бұрын
No, the Army Rangers were, WW2, disbanded then brought back during the Korean war, initial training and pattern was from the British Special operations, Marine Corps "Raiders" came after that.
@tedh.8356Ай бұрын
Clarification: Rangers were first, Marine Raisers were next both during WW2, Raiders were also disbanded after WW2, Force Recon started in 1958, the Air Force already had "PJ's" and CCT's.
