@@liesterminator153whether we like it or not our country was very prone or magnet to foreign invasion either there was or there were no US base or EDCA sites here! You know why?!, it was because our location was very estrategic position geographically and very excellent for defense and we have no land border. We are sorrounded by waters of seas and oceans.and very difficult for an invading armies to cross and land. Aside from these we have enourmous natural resources like oil and natural gas and other estrategic minerals etc,etc,etc. needed for a strong industry & war machines So we must used only common sense and wisdom in order to protect our country it was better to have many friends and allies like US, Japan, South Korea, Australia, India, Israel and other EU countries and even our Asian neighbors like Vietnam, Indonesia etc,etc. So that in the event of foreign armed attack or invasion such as China's Aggressive or assertive move we can deter and repulse them. During the cold war 1970,80,90's I believe to the notion of the Left and the Nationalist or Patriotic movements of political left, right and center leaning etc.,etc, that the Philippines if neutral will not be attack or invade by any country if their was no US bases here and even as a former activist we struggled to abolished that military bases of uncle Sam for it endanger our Independence and as a sovereign country like what happened during WW2 when we attact by Japan because of US bases presence in our land and we should maintain neutrality..But that notion was wrong and unrelialistic because during WW2 Japan needed badly the natural resources to sustain her war with US and Allies so whether we are neutral assuming there was no American Military presence in our country Japan as a Imperialist country like US etc. will still attack and conquered us. That was the dilemma of our country that our very blessed nation was also have have a cursed and invitation to foreign invasion and conquest. Now is the time that the whole Filipino people must united as one and strengthened our defense, military capabilities against external threats as well as we must strengthen and deepened our military,political and economic alliances with many countries in the world. Most of this 100 billion dollars come from Japan.America is in a tight spot now but once it's sorted America will invest in the Philippines big time. We wait for America to get back to its feet. Meanwhile ,we're grateful to Japan.

I agree that Philippines cooperates with Japan and USA. So Indonesia will not be disturbed when we work with China , Russia , South Korea and some EU member countries and GCC countries for Defence , Investment and trade. For us Japan and the US will slowly fade away of their influence and dominance in our economic , political and defence affairs. We want to grow up our reliance on BRICS+, RCEP, Mercosur and relation with most African and GCC countries. We can live without Japan and USA influence in our backyard. That is why we have bilateral military exercises with both Russia and China, beside our other multilateral military exercises with the US and their partners
