Bravo 👏 Mike, pretty deep discussion 👍🏽, I can say without a shadow of doubt that my life was made possible due to the sacrifices the U.S. military made in taking back Guam 🇬🇺. My grandmother watched her parents be killed and forced to march @6 years old. My grandfather (Ret. Chief Petty officer) shared the same trauma. Their 3 kids devoted their lives to law enforcement, My siblings hold degrees in law enforcement and I recently separated as a cop from service. We are a humble Pacific Island family. Combat must have been insane back before firearms and cannons were the main weapons. Charging into battle with swords and spears, horseback, bows and arrows. Hell, even the revolutionary war where they marched into a field 100 feet from each other and fired volleys. That had to be nuts being in the front line when it was the enemy’s turn to fire their volley. War is crazy

I came across this by happen stance. I was glued to every word of it. I am a former Marine and combat veteran. So many parallels between my experiences, friends of mine and those discussed here. I literally didn't want it to end. I fully understand that Rob drinks very little if at all but I poured a drink and it just felt like I was back. I was almost trying to join in with the conversation. I realize to some.... that might seem strange. But I was suddenly back in my head in my world. I got nothing else and thank you sounds stupid. But thank you for taking me back and giving me some time. Two years ago I lost my best friend. We spent nearly our whole time in the Corps together. His kids called me Uncle and mine the same to him... I was at his funeral and helping his kids with everything... I haven't felt so at home and missed someone so much. But sitting around at night and remembering.... until I watched this. You filled a void and I don't know either of you.

From an older Army Infantryman, from way back when, who is grateful every day that he never had to do his job: There is a gap between us that I cannot bridge, but with a brother in both Gulf Wars, another brother in Vietnam, dad WWII, grandfather WWI and Army, nieces and nephews in both Iraq and Afghanistan, I have seen some things I've never seen before and it breaks my heart. I saw what my brother's return to civilian life was like, he was spit on. And the rate at which my brothers and sisters are killing themselves returning from that shit desert hurts it is so high. Just you talking and sharing helps. Now that I rely on the VA for my disabilities I hope they are doing the right thing by you. I mean the young warriors your age and a little younger that did this for us. You are loved and not forgotten of course. Keep up the good work showing others that they are not alone.
