U.S. Culture Shocks with CREEPER

We spoke to British band Creeper on the second date of their first North American tour about the weird experiences they've had in our (apparently very friendly) country.

it's not really that people in the UK are mean (some are don't get me wrong) it's more like we're all socially awkward or socially private would be a more polite way to put it. Like people keep to themselves and find it rude to ask other people about their business

When i visit the USA i find Americans are VERY social people & love to talk. It seems common for a stranger to approach you & start a conversation where they are genuinely interested in knowing everything about you then talk about themselves so you get to know them. (or maybe they sense i'm foreign) As a Canadian & a frequent visiter to the UK i find we're the opposite. We're very anti-social & seem scared of other people. LOL. Yes we Canadians are "polite" but that's b/c we want to avoid confrontations.

l lived in the us my whole life and no one ever randomly talked to me, nor do I find people to be unusually nice...?

maybe it's because they're English, I find the people tend to embrace you more when you come from a different English speaking country. That being said when I went to the US I don't remember anyone being particularly friendly to my family, not that they were rude, they just treated us like anyone else. My experience was that Australia is more like what they're saying USA is like, everyone seemed to love us there
