American bases and facilities have been deployed for longer than that - entirely unrelated to this current war. By the way, look at American streets. Iran has an overwhelming advantage over America in middle east American and it's proxy Isreal doesn't have the ground force to deal with the combined Iran proxies in Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and the Houtis and America can't deal with Iran itself with thousands of high level accuracy missiles and ground force that put Americans military assets, gas and oil facilities for its allies around the région in land and sea at great risk etc. American Air power only can't sustain a long and wider war that can last for decades.
